About Me

Hello! My name is Chavon and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas. I have over 5 years experience working in the mental health field. I have worked in a variety of settings including schools, partial care, outpatient, in-home, and individual sessions. Although that seems like a mouthful, it simply means that I have had experience working with a broad range and severity of clinical issues. I have the most experience working with depression, anxiety, family/relationship conflicts, grief, and self esteem/love. I also have experience working with intellectual/developmental disabilities, behavioral issues and autism .

My dedication to the field of mental health stems from my personal experience with it. I had the personal experience of losing a child. When this happened a counselor helped me put the pieces of my life back together. I found purpose in this experience and knew that helping others through this painful process was a way I could give back.
I have also personally overcome some mental health challenges, too. I know firsthand that getting help can be a challenge. There is still so much stigma around having mental health issues, the process for getting help can be overwhelming, and it can feel so frustrating and lonely. However, I also know from experience how much life can change for the better when you find support and take steps towards taking care of yourself!

I use a person-centered, self compassionate, multicultural, and integrative approach in treatment. This means I begin where you are and tailor the treatment approach to your needs while being sensitive to how your individual cultural identities and lifestyle choices impact your experience. I primarily use evidence based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused counseling. However, I do incorporate more "classical" approaches to counseling as well.

I would describe my style as warm and supportive, and I am ready to help you tackle your struggle head-on. Collaboration is important - together we can work on establishing concrete goals and steps for you to help overcome your current problems. If you are looking for quick fixes, I am not the best counselor to work with. I believe in taking time and working on wellness slowly, holistically, and consistently. Just as physical health takes time and consistency, so does mental health. I look forward to helping you in any way I can!

I have been communicating in many ways with Betterhelp, specifically Chavon Williams for about 2 weeks now. It’s so nice that if a situation arises, I don’t have to wait for my appointment in 2 weeks to visit. Chavon listens and suggests actions based on Christian principles. She makes me feel comfortable that, regardless of how those actions are received, I’m doing things as well as I can. I highly recommend Chavon and Betterhelp to anyone seeking guidance.

Chavon is understanding, supportive and a very nice person. She is a good listener and always has a good answer for me and advise. I am happy to have her as my counselor, she's been helping me a lot and I am becoming 'the better myself' thanks to her help.

Even though I’ve only had a few sessions with Chavon so far, she has helped me to gain insight and I’ve begun to dig deeper on some issues I have been struggling with for a while. She is awesome.

She is a compassionate listener and offers applicable advice and insight. Her approach is direct without being invasive and makes you think about the session afterwards to help work through the issue on your own as well.

Chavon is a fantastic therapist and counselor. She approaches challenges with compassion and understanding, while at the same time making sure you hold yourself to a standard you’re capable of. She’s the perfect mix of empathy and inspiration. I couldn’t recommend her more highly!

Support! That's what we need and that is what you get with her. She listens and answer you with an understanding of your point of view. She makes time for you, understanding we all go through our worst times with little regard to time management. Above all she is easy to talk to, before I knew it I was letting my most cringy secrets out.
