Chelsea McCormick, LICSW
My name is Chelsea McCormick and I am a BetterHelp therapist and Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Alabama. I have over eight years experience assisting clients to navigate mental health and social challenges. I have worked with clients experiencing a wide range of challenges such as post-traumatic stress symptoms, grief, depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, issues in their relationships, parenting challenges, child behavior issues, anger control problems, chronic illness, substance abuse, and ADHD.
I believe in the Person-in-Environment perspective (meaning a person’s behavior and issues should be viewed within the context of what they have going on in their life). I meet my clients wherever they are without judgment and work with them to come up with a plan to meet their mental health goals. I am most guided by cognitive-behavioral theory and use a psychodynamic lens, but I also regularly use Dialectical Behavior Therapy concepts and skills, pull from a Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy model, and use Solution-Focused concepts. Everything about your treatment will be personal to you.
I look forward to working together!

I have only spoken with Chelsea two times however I feel like she is very understanding of the goals and issue I would like to address. She is also very helpful in terms of outside tools and strategies I can use to calm me down or relax me.
