Hello! Thank you for taking the time to view my profile! My name is Chelsea and I am an LCPC in the state of Maryland, a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) from the National Board of Certified Counselors, and an Approved Supervisor with the state of Maryland Board of Professional Counselors. I obtained my Masters from The Johns Hopkins University School of Education and have been practicing in community work with children, teens, families, and adults with severe and persistent mental illness for the past 9 years. I have experience in working with a wide range of clinical concerns such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar and other mood disorders, trauma, self-esteem, adjustment disorders and life transitions, behavioral and emotional disturbances, relationship issues, and family conflict.
I practice from a person-centered approach and draw from Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused, and Motivational Interviewing interventions. I believe that the therapeutic alliance is one the most significant predictors of successful outcomes in therapy. I foster this through empathy, validation, and unconditional positive regard for each of my clients. I am passionate about challenging the stigma related to mental health and educating the public in order to reduce the labels associated with it. Chelsea is great! She made the transition from no therapy to getting therapy feel so effortless. She helps me navigate through issues that I've pinpointed and made them feel less overwhelming by giving me worksheets and ways to think about problems in a new light. Even just talking to her helps a lot! I personally don't take enough advantage of the messaging section, and I should, but it's been helpful so far! If you get matched with Chelsea, you're lucky!
I’ve only had one phone conference. However, I love the messages she sends checking up on me & I love how she makes sure I’m okay.
I have only been in counseling for a few weeks but it has already made a world of difference. Chelsea is a great listener and always gives useful feedback. I am very grateful to her!
I process information first through theory and then apply it in practice. Working with Chelsea is a great opportunity to talk and try to fix issues that have been bothering me for quite a while and caused certain anxieties. I love how she is ready to explain if I need to understand the science behind things. I love how she checks up with me every week. It allows me to stay accountable to myself.
Chelsea is awesome and so patient. She never made me feel like my problems were too small to find a solution for, and had a plethora of advice that helped me work through everything that was causing me anxiety. I also appreciated that her schedule included a lot of evening appointments, as that worked great with my own schedule. I highly recommend Chelsea!
Chelsea is very kind and accepting. I've seen significant progress while working with her.
I really appreciate the different perspectives she brings and how she can be very direct but still respectful.
Chelsea is very warm and friendly. She is totally non-judgmental and has a lot of great insight--has helped me tremendously. She is also very responsive and accommodating with her schedule. Would definitely recommend!
Chelsea is amazing I would highly recommend her!
