About me

Welcome! I have over 20 years of experience working in mental health. My areas of specialty include depression, anxiety, stress management, trauma, coping with grief and loss, and improving self-confidence. Sometimes unresolved issues from our past can present themselves as stress and anxiety in our daily lives and get in the way of a meaningful life. In addition, life in our fast-paced world can be quite overwhelming and create stress that feels unmanageable.

I use a variety of methods to help clients achieve improved emotional wellness. You CAN learn new ways of thinking about yourself and the world. Our past does not need to define us. Challenges and stress can transform into opportunities to develop yourself in ways that change your life.

I believe in helping people help themselves. And, everyone needs support at some point in their lives. I would be honored to be a support person in your life. Together we will work to find solutions to help you feel better and happier.

In my personal life, I enjoy reading, playing tennis, walking my adorable but somewhat annoying dogs, skiing, playing volleyball, and being the mother of two very spirited tween/teens girls. I look forward to working with you!

In my previous therapy experiences, I have never been 100% happy with my therapist. Then Chelsey came along. She is amazing at what she does! From her first message I knew she was “the one”. She is understanding, patient, intelligent, and funny. Chelsey is very easy to talk to and ensures I am always comfortable during our conversations. I would highly recommend Chelsey to anyone that is looking to do the work and understand themselves further.

I started working with Chelsey 3 years ago after one of my parents died. Sorting though our complex relationship and my own life during career transitions was a lot. Chelsey is kind, supportive, and consistent, all traits I like in a therapist.

In the time we’ve worked together, I’ve had a source support and growth amidst career changes, difficult relationships, cross-country moves that didn’t work out, and then the COVID-19 pandemic and working in the response. And as a black man, having a therapist who’s willing to do the work to understand how to work with clients of a different background is so important, especially after 2020.

Chelsey was open to my feedback, incredibly thoughtful, and the experience of online therapy also meant I could reply in ways and times that worked for me. I’ve gotten so much out of our time together, and would absolutely recommend Chelsey. One of the biggest pieces of advice that I’ve taken is to remember I’m not truly stuck. Chelsey said this in some difficult times when moving for a job didn’t work out, and being reminded of my own autonomy helped me to make the changes I needed, and get out of life what I want.
