About me

Hello! I'm looking forward to this journey with you, and providing services via email. This is an amazing opportunity for us to connect and for me to help you get the help you're seeking.

I began working with clients in 2001. At that time I worked primarily with women, children, and families struggling with domestic violence and sexual victimization. While working toward my Masters degree, I worked with clients struggling with substance abuse, developmental, medical, vocational needs and mental health issues. Once I received my Masters in Applied Psychology I began to mostly work with clients who faced issues with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, sexual health issues, and in some of the settings I worked with clients who were sexual offenders. For the last 5 years, I've worked with families, adults, and children in the foster care system, jails, and in the community who struggle with sexual and physical abuse histories, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, relationship issues, difficulty with parenting children with ADHD and Autism, and bipolar disorder. Throughout my career, I’ve also worked with people who have experienced LGBTQ challenges and sexual identity issues.

I have a humanistic approach. This approach allows us to look at all angles and aspects of your life to better understand what the core issues are externally and internally, and from there move toward improving your overall well-being. At times the cognitive behavioral approach may feel to be most prominent, because that approach helps us to work toward changing things that are not working, and changing them to things that give you a healthier lifestyle and outlook on life. Expressive therapy is also an intervention I use to help you draw out the real you, the person you want to be; you do this through self expression of drawing, dance, music, journaling or writing, etc... Helps the creative person to connect in a way that's more natural for them.

I look forward to helping you on your journey to create the life, lifestyle, and feelings of accomplishment you're seeking.

Thank you for this opportunity.
