About Me

Welcome to BetterHelp! Reaching out for help is often the first and most difficult step to initiating change in our lives, so you should know that I'm glad you are here. I'm Cheryl, a licensed clinical social worker in Pennsylvania with more than 19 years experience. I've worked with clients who struggle with a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, substance abuse, relationship issues, grief, trauma, and life transitions.

I believe there isn't a one size fits all approach as far as treatment modalities go. The therapeutic relationship, in my opinion, is about feeling safe, comfortable, and connected. I care about my clients, and I pride myself on making the "uncomfortable comfortable." Our time together will be focused on personal growth and working to help you develop the tools to find a place of peace and balance.

Cheryl is the best first therapist I could have asked for. She understands my goals and needs, and has a great deal of respect for me as a patient and as a person. She is east to talk and open up to and has a wonderful bedside manner. I can’t thank her enough for the help and advice she has given me.

Cheryl was great in a time of need. She lended an open, understanding and empathetic ear, and helped to reassure all the core principles I knew I had about dealing with depression, anxiety, and imposter syndrome. After coming out of quarantine and entering a new work environment, she helped make a hard transition easier to process and keep positive. Thank you Cheryl!

Cheryl has been exceptional to work with, especially since I've had a few therapists. She listens extremely intently and ask clarifying questions that really promote progress within yourself learning. I have highly recommended other people use BtterHelp and see a therapist because Cheryl has allowed me to progress greatly within my own needs in a short period of time. I don't want to say she's the best therapist I've ever had, but she truly is the best therapist I've ever had.

I was so nervous my first call with Cheryl, not just because of my situation but I didn't know how I would be talking to a stranger on the phone. Cheryl is amazing! She made me feel like I just talking to a friend who wanted to listen and hear my issues. She allowed me to express how I was feeling and didn't care if I didn't make sense or not. She always seems to get me and understand. Cheryl doesn't just respond with it will be ok, she empathizes with you and brings you back to earth when you feel you can't hold on anymore. I feel so save expressing my feelings without being judged.

I've only had a couple meetings with Cheryl, but she's been awesome so far. She's adapted the way she does some things in order to better work with some of my struggles and is all around very understanding.
The Better Help setup is incredible. I recommended it to a colleague who's been struggling and hasn't had good luck with in-person therapy sessions and she loves it. Thank you!
