About Me

I am a Mental Health Counselor licensed in New York. I have 10 years experience working as a counselor and clinical evaluator for a wide range of clients, both adolescents and adults. My experience with adults includes parenting challenges, substance use and addictions, depression and anxiety. I have many years of experience working with adolescents and families, implementing evidenced based practices; Multi-Systemic Therapy in the home. I have engaged in valuable work with adolescents and families, in culturally sensitive situations, specifically, Unaccompanied Minors presenting with trauma, abuse, and familial challenges.
My counseling style is emphathic and warm. I value respect, compassion, safety, integrity and honesty. My approach to counseling is contingent on the needs of the individual, with focus on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.
Making the first step to seek out support is the most challenging step to take. The courage it takes to that step will ignite more change; the change you wish to see.
I look forward to working with you!

**Please note, I am licensed to practice only in the State of New York. Clients working with me must be residents of New York State, USA.

Cheryl is absolutely wonderful! She listens to me intently and repeats back what I'm saying to make sure she's understanding me, and then she asks follow-up questions and/or makes observations that challenge me to find what's behind the thing I mentioned.

Based on our discoveries, she encourages me to think of tangible, measurable goals that I can work on between sessions in order to live a happier, more fulfilled life.
