My name is Christie and I am a therapist licensed in Washington State with over ten years experience. I have been a case manager for aging and disabled as well as a therapist for children, adults, couples, and families and worked in various community settings. I enjoy working collaboratively with my clients to help them feel better and achieve their goals. I have worked with clients on a range of topics including anxiety and depression, substance use, educational and career planning/goal setting, parenting concerns and child development and budgeting and personal finance. I have worked with couples on communication skills, intimacy, pornography and values exploration. I try to invoke a mixture of listening so that I fully understand your concerns and story with solution focused problem solving so that you feel as if you are leaving our sessions with something.
My counseling style is supportive and inclusive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, narrative and rational-emotive counseling. That's a whole lot of fancy words to say that I believe everyone has a story and wants to be the best person they can be and a caring and supportive professional can help them achieve their goals. That being said I also believe that humans are creatures of habit and sometimes need help in learning new habits in a concrete and measurable way.
In my personal life I am a single mom to an adorable eight year old girl and love all things Disney! I enjoy cooking and taking walks around the neighborhood and rainy days cuddled on the couch with my two cats, Duke and Dora.
If you are hoping for a specific day/time but it is not on my schedule please message me anyway and ask, often times I can fit you in.
I look forward to working with you!

I really like my counselor Christie.
She is an excellent counselor. She listens and offers sound advice and wisdom from an objective point of view.
For someone who's lived internally conflicted so long as if they were just a spectator to their own life, Christie was there to help me find the weight to my words and help guide me to a stable path. I believe there is a way to improve where I have struggled, and it starts with being able to connect with people like her.
I became overwhelmed and failed to stay in contact, but she kept checking one me...it makes me feel like I matter, and that how I feel matters, and that there is someone who cares. <3 I am so grateful to have someone there for me.
Christie is very attentive and thoughtful.
Christie is great and very understanding. She offers great advice and because of her I have already mentioned this service to many friends.
Christy has helped me to have confidence in the future. She's helped me feel confident in the counseling process and his help me anywhere from my relationship problems and recovery through problems with family and most importantly has helped me with not feeling alone and getting things off my chest that have built up for years. Many people feel very alone when they have problems in their life and feel as if no one would understand, but once I started talking to counselor I started to realize that I'm not alone and that so many others feel the same way I do and that I am normal for the way that I feel and the problems I have are normal. I've gained confidence in myself and confidence in this process called life. There's no step by step book of how to deal with things that come into our lives but having someone on your side that helps you through it is extremely important and rewarding. I would recommend Christy any day. She is very knowledgeable and resourceful in so many different aspects. I will continue to use her as my counselor until I feel ready to handle life on my own with all of the resources and guidance she is giving me.
Christie is an excellent counselor and a kind-hearted person. It feels like talking to a friend, but one with great advice and measurable next steps for leading a healthier life. Really grateful for Christie's support.
Christie and I are working well together
Thank you for being someone I could vent to through this tough time.
Christie Ryan has been fantastic and has helped me tremendously.
Christie has been very good about addressing my problems and helping me reach the answers I've been seeking. Her book recommendations are terrific and insightful and I love her worksheets. It makes sessions feel more organized. Christie shows an eagerness to help and I greatly appreciate that.
Christie is level headed, logical, empathetic, and a great brain stormer. She helps find solutions and is understanding and patient with the process. She is a great person to have in my corner and I've learned a lot during my time with her as a counselor.
I haven’t been working with her for that long but from my experience with her, it’s been great so far.
Christie was very helpful to me in dealing with relationship issues. She had good availability for me to discuss the problems and was a great listener. If I need to return to the site for further counseling, I will request her. Thanks Christie!
Thank you for all your help an understanding.
Christie is an extremely understanding and committed counselor. She is a great choice for anyone!
Christie has been very helpful. She responds quickly and also helps educate me by sending me links and books to look at.
Christie has helped me to understand things about myself that years with in-person counselors haven't been able to connect. I appreciate her ability to pull out the right things from what I'm expressing to help me find ways to look at things differently.
I am enjoying the worksheets and conversations via email.
I was scared to seek counseling, but Christie has made me very comfortable and she has given me invaluable direction and resources.
I've very much enjoyed working with Christie. She's very open and honest, both about what she does know and what she doesn't. She is very respectful and apologetic when/if she steps on any toes and knows how to treat trauma patients gently.
Christie is kind. She also sends me worksheets for anxiety help and depression help.
