Christie Wilhite-Chu

About Me

My name is Christie Wilhite-Chu, and I have been licensed for 14 years in Texas as a professional counselor. I have worked with families and children for 15 years in a variety of settings. I have a experience in many areas, and am most proficient in issues involving child abuse, domestic abuse, anxiety, depression, infertility/adoption/egg donation, school and academic difficulties (including students with individual education plans), eating disorders, , parenting multiples, and issues facing those with HIV. I want each client I work with to know that it is normal to have problems along the path of life. Most people struggle at some point in time, and it is a positive step to seek help.

My clinical approach is compassionate and person centered. Once I have a clear understanding of the individual client and the problem, I move the client into identifying goals. I use cognitive behavioral strategies where work is focused on changing thinking patterns and feelings. I also utilize relaxation techniques and imagery.

Please contact me if you are struggling with life issues. Everyone needs a little help sometimes!

Christie really helped me get through a period where I needed it. I live in a fairly isolated part of the world and she understood straight away the challenges I was dealing with. She provided that un-biased, outside view that is easy to lose when you don't have anyone to turn to. I highly recommend her, and will be returning to her again.

Christie is an amazing counselor. This was my first time in therapy and from the very first session, Christie has been so warm, patient and nurturing. She understood my issues and helped me understand them as well. She knew right where I was coming from and gave me solutions to work my issues out. More than anything, Christie valued me, which made me feel an instant connection with her as though I had finally found someone who could understand me and see me for being me. You are awesome, Christie. I wish you all the happiness in the world.

I was very reluctant to do online counseling or any counseling for that matter however I'm glad I took the chance . I'm also glad Christie was my counselor . She was very understanding and I appreciate that she responded promptly. I feel the advice was on point and the fact that she was nonjudgmental really helped me a lot. I feel it was a positive experience and it makes me feel more inclined to ask for help when I feel I need it. Also the cost was extremely affordable !!

After exchanging just a few messages, Christie pinpointed exactly what issues I have, where they came from, and how they are affecting my life. This knowledge was amazingly eye-opening and will be valuable to me for the rest of my life. Morever, Christie is providing me with specific ways to heal and change my life for the better. Her friendly manner makes me feel at ease, and I cannot thank her enough for her help.

I have now literally emotionally survived a flood with Christie's help! What I love about working with her is her openness combined with her impressive knowledge. She is the light at the end of my day as I struggle to maintain emotional balance (without medication God willin' and the creek don't rise). I am in the middle of my second week working with her and I find her abilities include subtle direction towards solutions which prompt me to do my own homework. Take it from me, I have had many therapists over the last couple of decades and Christie ranks among the absolute best.
