Hello, and welcome to my page! My name is Chris, and I am very much looking forward to working with you on your journey. I have a masters degree in Substance Abuse and Clinical Counseling from East Carolina University. I am fully licensed in both mental health and addiction in North Carolina and Colorado. I have worked with a wide variety of folks in various settings - both in office and out in the community.
I believe that having a genuine, honest, respectful, and inspiring relationship with your counselor is not only helpful - but necessary for growth to happen. I will do everything in my power to create a safe space for you to grow, and truly love yourself and your life. I will not stand above the hole you find yourself in, shouting suggestions on how to get out - instead, I will jump in with you, and we will map out an escape plan together. You are worth it, and its my job to help you see that. Some of my favorite treatment modalities to use in session are Motivational Interviewing(MI), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy(CBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy(SFBT).
I live with my dog Abigail in coastal North Carolina. I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my young nephew. I belong to the LGBTQ+ community, and work to provide outreach in rural NC. I am a lover of all things music, and long time Taylor Swift fan. I am a Level 1 Reiki Practitioner, and enjoy learning about alternative/supplemental healing approaches.
Additional areas of focus: Relationship issues, Family conflicts, Grief, Anger management, Self esteem, Career difficulties, Bipolar disorder, Compassion fatigue
Clinical approaches: Attachment-Based Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy

As a female he is the first male therapist I have worked with but he makes me feel extremely comfortable and at ease and is very easy to talk to. I would highly recommend him.

Before Christopher, i was pretty skeptical on therapy. The times i had gone did not help me at all and i thought it was a waste of money, to say the least. But Christopher changed that mentality once I got to work with him! With the first session, I already saw hope LOL. i immediately felt safe and heard. We also immediately clicked. I could feel that he really wanted to help me arrive at a destination instead of just passively listening to me talk. I love how encouraging he is, and how he takes steps to guide you in the right direction towards healing yourself. Literally cannot recommend him enough. I have been telling all my friends to get betterhelp/therapy because of him. (:
