I want to share a bit of myself. I graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with my Masters in Counseling; I also attended Hood College in Maryland and graduated with another Maters in Thanatology (Thanatology or Deathlore is the scientific study of death and the losses brought about as a result). Then I attended Carthage College, got my undergraduate degree in Sociology in Kenosha, and grew up. I am also a Licensed Professional Counselor in WI and IL.
Communication, nondiscrimination, trust, and confidentiality are major cornerstones of my counseling practice. I've been practicing for over 20 years now, and I have a very solution-focused approach to counseling. I specialize in all "Issues of Living and Dying" and Grief with all ages. I've worked in and out of various educational clusters. As a counselor, I worked for the State of Wisconsin Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

Christopher was very kind and helped me get through a difficult period during the pandemic. In a time when we were all very disconnected he helped me feel more connected.

Mr Gerou is the best therapist I’ve had, he listens well, and is very casual with being late or busy etc. I had an excellent experience and would definitely recommend him to others. He read me like a book on our first two sessions and knows how to make me laugh when I was upset.

I am beyond grateful for the help I have received from Christopher. Initially, I was extremely hesitant about beginning therapy online, but with every session, I not only became comfortable in therapy, but more comfortable in my own skin. These unprecedented times regarding the COVID-19 pandemic had led me to fall into a hole I didn't think I would ever get out of. Christopher renewed my optimism and helped me see that every season brings something new and that celebrating myself, authentically, is what will help me find joy.

Christopher helped me find my self-worth again after a pretty bad breakup. We worked through some of my repetitive, self-destructive behaviors so that I could love myself first, and relationships second. So thankful for his help!

Christopher is an expert in his area, Death & Dying. Yes, that's right, and if you think you don't need support in this area, then you may want to reconsider. I came to Christopher through my EAP when I reached out for help when both of my parents were diagnosed with COVID within a week of my brother finding out he had cancer. Christopher not only helped me re-affirm my inner strength & coping skills, but he has been invaluable in helping me have difficult life & end -of-life planning discussions with my family. I am eternally grateful for Christopher, his clear & concise ways of communicating are exactly what is needed to navigate these conversations.

I found my counseling sessions with Christopher extremely helpful. I started counseling due to some anxiety, stress, and indecision about my future career, as well as the pandemic. Christopher was solutions-oriented and helped me find tangible ways that I could get on the right path. Christopher was great at listening to the issues I was experiencing, helping me find solutions, and checking in on my progress. He was so nice and always respected my time! I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking help.
