About me

Meet Chris, a compassionate and highly skilled Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. With a Clinical Mental Health Degree from Messiah University in Mechanicsburg, PA, he has honed his expertise in helping individuals, couples, and families overcome their challenges.

Prior to his career in counseling, Chris served as non-profit specialist around the world. This diverse background has provided him with a unique perspective and a deep understanding of different cultures and human experiences. He also has a theological background for those looking for a faith-based approach.

Chris specializes in working with individuals, couples, and families, with a focus on clients aged 16 and older. While his main clientele falls within this age range, he also sees a limited number of younger clients. His scope of practice encompasses a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, family relationship issues, trauma, adjustment disorders, and marital difficulties.

In his counseling approach, Chris draws upon a rich tapestry of theories and techniques. He primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT), which explores the intricate connections between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By integrating CBT with a secondary theory such as person-centered, family systems, or even feminist theories, Chris can tailor a personalized treatment plan that best suits your unique needs.

Beyond his professional commitments, Chris finds joy in exploring different corners of the world alongside his family. Having visited over 75 countries across four continents, he values the enriching experiences gained from meeting new people and immersing himself in diverse cultures. On days when the weather permits, you might find him engaging in his favorite outdoor activities, such as taking walks and or kayaking on the rivers.

Chris is dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey towards improved mental well-being. With his extensive knowledge, empathetic nature, and diverse skill set, he strives to create a safe and nurturing space where clients can explore their inner selves and work towards positive change.

My therapeutic work centers on empowering clients to develop stronger communication skills, overcome social anxiety, and explore deeper issues of self-worth and purpose. I understand the unique challenges men face in today's rapidly changing world and offer a supportive, understanding environment for personal exploration and healing.

Drawing from evidence-based practices, I help clients work through guilt, shame, attachment challenges, and interpersonal dynamics. Whether you're struggling with isolation, relationship difficulties, or seeking greater self-understanding, I'm committed to walking alongside you with respect and professional guidance.
