About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as well as a Certified Health Coach through the American Council for Exercise (ACE). I specialize in helping men and women break out of old patterns, including those involving diet and exercise, in order to feel more confident, energetic and happy. I emphasize the food-mood connection and am passionate about the strong proven relationship between nutrition and mental health. I am an expert at helping people overcome emotional and psychological barriers to physical health and weight goals, as well assessing techniques for evaluated a client's unique nutritional needs, and counseling them throughout the process of nutritional change. I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected, and work with you to develop and implement long-term sustainable changes.

Beyond addressing the physical-emotional health connection, I have extensive experience addressing and treating depression, anxiety, mood disorders, substance abuse, life/work stress, parenting issues, relationship issues, and domestive violence. I have expertise in assisting men and women address domestic abuse safely and effectively. I work with numerous men and women who are involved in patterns of manipulative and abuse behaviors by partners or other family members who have or are suspected to have Borderline Personality Disorder or other personality disorders, to set healthy and safe boundaries.

My back round working with diverse populations in hospitals, schools, community settings and private practice, has given me the skills and experience necessary to effectively treat individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, relationship problems, self-esteem issues, grief and loss, life transition, emotional wellness, and personal growth, while addressing the relationship between what they eat, the way they think, feel and interact with the world . I practice from a cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and strengths-based model. I believe that the client therapist relationship is a partnership which involves ongoing collaboration to ensure mutual understanding and effectiveness.
