Hello, my name is Dr. Colleen Casady. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California. I also recently graduated from USC with my Doctorate in Social Work.
I have been a working as a Social Worker for more than 25 years and have experience working with people from all different backgrounds who are struggling with a wide variety of difficulties. Like the majority of the world, I too have come from a difficult family dynamic and have struggled with mental health issues. I believe there is a lot to gain from living through issues and coming out ahead.
You are not alone in your circumstance. I can help.
The majority of my experience has been helping people who struggle with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, abandonment and loneliness, and the challenges of parenting.
My approach tends to work within a Humanistic approach. I prefer this style due to the support it provides in keeping people in the present with the possibility to develop new coping skills/awareness moving forward. Essentially, life is going to happen, but it is how we respond or react to a situation that can allow us to grow or hold us back. I also work within a Cognitive Behavioral approach. To phrase it simply, in order to change an action or behavior, we must change the thinking behind the action or behavior.
I am available to interact with you in whichever manner is most comfortable for you. I find it beneficial to participate in video sessions so that we can get to know each other better, but I am also available via phone and text if that works well for you.
Please message me and I will connect with you as soon as I am able.
I know how hard it is to find a counselor who you feel a connection with and I would be grateful to work with you through this stage of your life. Having a positive connection with your counselor is important for your therapeutic success.
Thank you !

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Colleen Casady. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Dr. Casady is a wonderful Therapist and I would highly recommend her. She always makes the most of our sessions by listening, hearing, evaluating and then suggesting. She is EXTREMELY patient, especially with ones like me that have a tendency to shut down and hide and she’ll always let me know she’s here and never pushes. Dr. Casady always makes a point to recognize steps taken with recovery but never judges when you stumble. It’s our own recovery to work through and she’s a great person to help you navigate working through it with much respect.
Dr. Casady has been a great counselor to me! I’m grateful for her patience & kind guidance through my healing journey.
I was hesitant to try counseling again when i signed up for betterhelp. I am now extremely grateful and look forward to my sessions. It has been a blessing to find Dr. Casady. I can see growth in myself and look forward to learning everything she has to offer.
It was meant to be. I had immediate chemistry and trust with Dr. Casady which gave me the courage to fully open up about everything and anything. I got relief immediately, starting with our first appointment. And by the 2nd and 3rd appointments, my life had completely changed for the better. Df. Casady compassionately guided me through a tsunami wave of issues in just a few months. I'm so grateful, forever grateful!
Dr. Casady is the most real therapist I have ever spoken to. She listens very well but doesn't go back and say how does that make you feel. She gives you candid feedback even if it's not what you were looking for. I seriously am going to be using her beyond what I am seeing her for at the moment.
I’ve had different therapists over a twenty year period, and Dr. Casady is my absolute favorite.
Dr. Casady is excellent in her profession. She has helped me on how to respond to my partners emotions in a way that helps us to feel more validated and understood. I am now more confident that I have a better understanding on how to further improve our relationship and communication with one another. Thank you Dr. Casady!
Dr. Casady is very personable, relatable and kind. She seems to have very thorough understanding and analysis of her patients and provides simple achievable goals and tasks to help her patients. She is both very professional and down to earth. I feel like she is quite critical in helping her patients to understand the issue at hand yet very personable and intimate to where it provides a comfortable and emotional learning environment. I am very new to counciling but don't think I could have found a better councilor to meet and work with. Her patience and understanding allows me to be very susceptible to her advice and recommendations.
She’s so relatable. A non-judge mental woman with practical tools and insights to help. She has helped me managed anxiety from our very first session and is wonderfully compassionate.
Dr. Casady helped me navigate a few months of big changes in my life. I would not have arrived on the other side as well off if not for her sound advice and perspective. She is compassionate but direct, and doesn’t waste any time getting to the heart of issues. I always felt like I could trust her, and she empowered me to make decisions and frame situations in a way that has eased a lot of stress. As bonus, she responds quickly and is very punctual. Thank you, Dr. Casady!
I have had two sessions with Dr. Casady and she has helped me so much. In just two sessions she's helped and given me suggestions on how to combat my anxiety. I will definitely be using Dr. Casady for quite some time.
Dr. Casady is insightful, compassionate and knows how to get to the heart of the matter. Her experience working with a variety of people was really helpful to me as I learned how to navigate my relationships with others better. She encouraged me to consider how my actions and words affect others and then has been very helpful.
She has truly helped me break down some walls
