About me

Hello, my name is Dr. Colleen Casady. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California. I also recently graduated from USC with my Doctorate in Social Work.

I have been a working as a Social Worker for more than 25 years and have experience working with people from all different backgrounds who are struggling with a wide variety of difficulties. Like the majority of the world, I too have come from a difficult family dynamic and have struggled with mental health issues. I believe there is a lot to gain from living through issues and coming out ahead.

You are not alone in your circumstance. I can help.

The majority of my experience has been helping people who struggle with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, abandonment and loneliness, and the challenges of parenting.

My approach tends to work within a Humanistic approach. I prefer this style due to the support it provides in keeping people in the present with the possibility to develop new coping skills/awareness moving forward. Essentially, life is going to happen, but it is how we respond or react to a situation that can allow us to grow or hold us back. I also work within a Cognitive Behavioral approach. To phrase it simply, in order to change an action or behavior, we must change the thinking behind the action or behavior.

I am available to interact with you in whichever manner is most comfortable for you. I find it beneficial to participate in video sessions so that we can get to know each other better, but I am also available via phone and text if that works well for you.

Please message me and I will connect with you as soon as I am able.

I know how hard it is to find a counselor who you feel a connection with and I would be grateful to work with you through this stage of your life. Having a positive connection with your counselor is important for your therapeutic success.

Thank you !

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Dr. Colleen Casady. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Dr. Casady is a wonderful Therapist and I would highly recommend her. She always makes the most of our sessions by listening, hearing, evaluating and then suggesting. She is EXTREMELY patient, especially with ones like me that have a tendency to shut down and hide and she’ll always let me know she’s here and never pushes. Dr. Casady always makes a point to recognize steps taken with recovery but never judges when you stumble. It’s our own recovery to work through and she’s a great person to help you navigate working through it with much respect.

It was meant to be. I had immediate chemistry and trust with Dr. Casady which gave me the courage to fully open up about everything and anything. I got relief immediately, starting with our first appointment. And by the 2nd and 3rd appointments, my life had completely changed for the better. Df. Casady compassionately guided me through a tsunami wave of issues in just a few months. I'm so grateful, forever grateful!

Dr. Casady is the most real therapist I have ever spoken to. She listens very well but doesn't go back and say how does that make you feel. She gives you candid feedback even if it's not what you were looking for. I seriously am going to be using her beyond what I am seeing her for at the moment.

I’ve had different therapists over a twenty year period, and Dr. Casady is my absolute favorite.
