So, you’ve decided to take control of those overwhelming challenges in your life. Congratulations on your first step toward mental and emotional wellness! Hi, I'm Connie Hannon. I'm a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in Florida, and I can help you with the change and relief you’ve been looking for. My goal is to make the process of getting better easy, nurturing, and sustainable. Although I have over twenty years of professional training and experience in a wide variety of treatment modalities (i.e. cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing, etc.), I’ve learned through the years that an eclectic therapy style usually produces the greatest results in the least amount of time. My approach in therapy is to meet you exactly where you are in your life and provide you with a safe space where you can explore and identify solutions that fit your life and goals.
Whatever your life circumstances, rest assured that you have my unconditional positive regard. Rather than focusing on what is “wrong” with you, I am inspired by your story. I’m genuinely interested in who you are, how you see yourself, and how your life has been shaped by your environment. On one hand, life’s challenges influence our beliefs and behaviors often affecting our ability to thrive. But on the other hand, life experiences provide us with unique strengths. We will utilize these strengths in our work together. You can overcome life’s obstacles and get back to the life you truly want to live.
Education and Experience: In 2008 I earned a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University, and have completed all but dissertation for my Ph.D. in Counseling Studies. My professional experience includes both inpatient and outpatient therapy. In 2021 I opened my own private practice for individual, family and couples counseling. Previously, I've worked in a large group (private) practice; correctional crisis counseling; and outreach counseling for community mental health organizations.
Contact me today and let’s begin your journey to mental and emotional wellness. I hope to see you soon!
