About me

Hi, my name is Connie Owens and I am a licensed therapist with more than 20 years of experience in helping others. During these 2+ decades, I have obtained a medical license to practice in multiple states and learned that while being evidence-based trained is helpful it is better to be evidence-based informed. It is a fact that we are each unique and that what works for one may not work for another. That is why I utilize a Holistic Approach; I fully understand that to heal the whole you, we must treat the whole you. In all facets of therapy, we will address the 4 human interdependent parts; Mind, Body, Soul, and Spirit. I have experience in various areas from birth-death (or Hospice). I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Therapist with several years of experience in helping others overcome trauma. And, it is hard these days not to mention trauma without discussing Narcissistic Abuse, which I also specialize in. I have helped hundreds of women and men not only break free from Narcissistic Abuse but also break the cycle so it does not happen again. Additionally, I also have many years of experience in Christian Counseling, Substance Use Disorders, Relationship Issues, Grief and Loss, Mental Health, Individual Therapy, and Group Therapy. More recently (although I have implemented these principles all along) I have wrapped up my Certification in Functional Nutrition and can now add to my resume that I am a Board Certified Holistic Mental Health Practitioner. Nutrition is only 1 area of focus with me. Your mental health is affected by everything you are exposed to so together we will address those things and come up with a plan that works for you so you can live your best quality of life.

My approach is gentle, yet direct. I will always meet you where you are and respect all of your beliefs and values.

I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. My overall treatment approach is a Holistic Approach that utilizes CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, Motivational Interviewing, and Biblical Principles and Truths for those looking for Christ -Centered Therapy- AKA an Eclectic Approach.

It takes courage to ask for help and commit to make changes, to improve your quality of life. I get that, so when you're ready I am here to empower you in your healing journey by supporting you and teaching you how to do it. One thing I'd like you to remember is-If you put in the work you will get the results.

Connie has been a huge part in completely changing my life for the better. I have been her client for almost 2 years and I am the best version of myself now thanks to her kindness, compassion, relatability, and expertise as a therapist.
I started with Connie at an all time emotional low, going through a break up. I had a pattern with the partners I attracted and a pattern of how they ended. I knew something needed to change and I couldn’t do it myself. I told her I felt like I needed a professional organizer for my brain and my thoughts.
I had an anxious attachment in relationships which I learned stemmed from abandonment issues from my childhood. Day by day, session after session, she helped me not only understand why the patterns in my life were happening, but literally taught me and helped me re-wire my brain! (Your brain is wired how it’s fired!)
She helped me help myself get out of being stuck in the revolving door of disappointment in my life. She gave me the tools to understand and love myself, which led to my first healthy romantic relationship, and has also changed my outlook and relationships with others in my life.
I have truly worked through the feeling of impending anxiety. Connie has helped me change my outlook on life and others. I’m calm, compassionate, caring, and have so much more capacity to give grace to others. She’s helped me see that all of us are going through something, and how people treat others is a reflection of themselves. That alone has brought me so much peace.

I wouldn’t be who I am today without Connie’s work. Connie feels like a friend. She is a huge cheerleader. I love Connie and tell everyone I know about her, because of her I am a huge advocate for therapy. In a year and a half, Connie helped me change my life and I would never want to go back to who I was before I found therapy.

Connie, I am FOREVER grateful for you. You were meant to be in this line of work. Thank you for changing my life, and giving me the tools to continue bettering myself.

She's a good therapist for allowing you to figure out your own issues and how to help you deal with them.
