About me

Hi, my name is Connie Owens and I am a licensed therapist with more than 20 years of experience in helping others. I have more than 2 decades of professional and life experience. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Therapist with several years of experience in helping others overcome trauma. I specialize in helping women who suffer from all types of trauma. It is hard these days not to mention Trauma without discussing Narcissistic Abuse. During the last decade, I have helped hundreds of women not only break free from Narcissistic Abuse but also prevent it from happening to them again in the future. I also help men/anyone break free because Narcissism does not discriminate. Additionally, I also have many years of experience in Christian Counseling, Substance Use Disorders, Relationship Issues, Grief and Loss, Mental Health, Individual Therapy, and Group Therapy, and I am a Trained Life Coach and Motivational Speaker.

My approach is gentle, yet direct. I will always meet you where you are and respect all of your beliefs and values.

I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. My treatment approach is CBT, DBT, Psychodynamic, ACT, Schema Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.

It takes courage to ask for help and commit to making the needed changes, to have the life you desire. I get that, and when you are ready I am here to empower you in your healing journey by supporting you and teaching you how to.

Absolutely recommended. I've done just 3 sessions with Connie so far and already feel I have made so much progress and can feel myself starting to feel better as I implement Connie's suggestions each week and reflect on her feedback. She is very relaxed and gives off a very non-judgemental and friendly vibe which I think is essential for feeling comfortable enough to open up to your therapist. So grateful for my experience with her so far!

Connie is absolutely amazing! I am 33 and reached a point in life where I needed to do some very hard yet necessary work on my childhood traumas that were surfacing in unhealthy ways and taking over my adult life. I did not work this hard in life to find myself here, so I knew I needed to speak with a proffessionaI. I was apprehensive about being matched with Connie at first, but it did not take long for me to begin to trust her ( trust does not come easily with me just so you know) and begin to talk about my deepest thoughts that are wrapped around my soul. Connie is very empathetic and listens very well. She is able to probe at the triggers by asking me to think more deeply about certain issues that have arose. She is very very knowlagable and I am always learning new things from Connie. I am beginning to feel so much lighter and more sure of myself these days. Much gratitude <3

It has been a blessing to have Connie as my Therapist. Great listener and I am grateful that I am able to process everything that has been going on in my life. It is a comfort too that we share the same faith. I have a lot to say and have felt in the past that I have not been heard. God has placed Connie in my life to help me on this journey. We are all working together and towards me trusting myself.

Connie is the best! She has helped me cope with the break up and abuse I suffered from my narcissistic ex-boyfriend, helped me improve my self-image, and helping me cope with all of life’s’ changes in a healthy way. She is so consistently present and she genuinely cares. She has brought so much light to my life and I am so honored to be working with her! God is using her and she is truly a blessing. ❤️

I can honestly say that I've never had a therapist that is both a straight shooter and an empath at the same time. Connie is simply the best therapist I have ever, ever had. She is able to listen to situations and provide emotional support, knowledgeable responses, and then gives it to you straight,- whatever it is that you need to hear. Of course, I'm sure that depends on the patient and how they communicate… Because she is also super aware of her patients and their preferences with communication styles. But with me? I love the fact that she knows I need that straightforward communication. I just appreciate her so much. I feel energized and ready to move forward with the next steps after every single session. I highly, highly, highly recommend Connie.

Connie Owens is a great therapist, easy to talk to, listens and genuinely trying to figure out what you need or looking for in therapy. Connie also welcomed any feedback from my side concerning the format of therapy or the set goals.

Connie has been such a blessing! I went through a pretty traumatic surgery and couldn’t seem to get out of this darkness around me. I was afraid of Christian therapy because many times people over spiritualize things rather than getting to the root cause. She uses scripture and prayer but also gives practical guidance which I couldn’t thank her enough for. She knew all the right questions to ask! I was afraid of therapy as well prior but now I’d recommend it to anyone. Thank you Connie for everything!

Where do I even start with how great Connie is? I could not be more grateful to have been matched with her. She has completely helped me turn my life around for the better. She is so kind, compassionate, relatable, understanding, helpful, and encouraging. She has been helping me get through a break up, past trauma, and has taught me so much about myself so that now moving forward in life, I have a better understanding of myself and others and I have been significantly happier since starting my sessions with her. I brag about her constantly to my friends, or just anyone who will listen! I wish everyone I know could have the opportunity to have sessions with Connie. Could not speak more highly of her. Beyond grateful for Connie’s knowledge and work with me, and I look forward to many more sessions. Good days and the bad days, she has been a beacon of light and help!

Connie is really amazing!
She is knowledgeable, thoughtful, kind, and incredibly communicative. Without her, I would be stuck in a very toxic and dysfunctional relationship with a narcissist that whittled down my self esteem so much so that I found it almost impossible to extract myself. She continues to educate and guide me through the chasm of the trauma bond and how to recognise the hidden messages in a manipulative person.

It’s been invaluable for me to have her help, and now I am trying to spread the word to my friends who struggle with the same tendencies and woes.

I also find so much solace in being able to message her throughout the week, especially when I am feeling down or particularly vulnerable to going back to my ex. She is gentle, understanding, and science-based to help me forgive myself AND conceptualise how to understand the chemical reactions inside when dealing with a toxic person.
I am learning so much from Connie!!
Thank you! Thank you!

I really like working with Connie. She is great. She really listens and understands me. I was hesitant about therapy because I've had some bad experiences but Connie really helps me. I have Bi-Polar disorder and she really understands that and helps me put my emotions in check. I would recommend her to anyone who would like to get quality help. Thanks so much Connie!

It’s been a pleasure working with Connie. I have been working with her for about a month and I have seen so much improvement from when I first started my sessions to now. She took the time to check on me and it was genuine.I am very thankful for her and I highly recommend her. - LP
