About me

I entered the field of clinical social work in 2016 and currently have nearly eight years of professional work experience. I have practiced at a community mental health agency where I have worked with clients of all ages. My preferred population includes teens and young adults, but I am open to all. My areas of expertise include trauma, attachment, anxiety, depression, grief, chronic illness, stress management, healthy relationships, and self compassion. I was also the co-facilitator of a Parenting the Traumatized class for the last five years. I not only have clinical experience, but also personal experience. I am a mom of four and a grandma of three. In my family and extended family, I have dealt first hand with anxiety, depression, grief, ADHD, OCD, trauma, abuse, autism, chronic illness, and divorce. I am EMDR trained and IFS informed. My primary modalities include internal family systems, (IFS), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, and sand tray therapy. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I am known for being a great listener. I work hard to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards change. I am here to support and empower you in that journey. I look forward to meeting with you!

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Connie Winn. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Connie has been helping me through my trauma and has been very supportive and understanding of everything I have experienced. I always feel like I never have to justify why I feel a little dinged up or "broken" in my noggin when I am talking with her.

She provides a lot of resources and information, and I love when she gives me all of the information haul on things that could explain why I am experiencing certain things or what I need to know about certain methods of treatment. It doesn't feel like therapy at that point it feels like I'm in a very informative seminar on how to help myself. Or as if I'm having a conversation with a friend and getting "the tea" on something important and engaging.
