Constance Moody, LPC
I am a licensed professional counselor with approximately 20 years of experience. I enjoy working with many different populations and believe in treating everyone with respect and compassion. Much of my experience is in the field of addiction (drugs, alcohol, food, and work), but I also have extensive experience with mood disorders and personality disorders. My preferred approach is cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) because it is highly effective. I also have some experience with dialectical behavior therapy, which I think provides the best type of group experience.
In CBT we learn how our belief system is a lens through which we see everything in life. The lens affects how we feel about things and our behaviors. By becoming aware of this lens, we become able to change it, which can lead to dramatic changes in our lives. The best thing about these therapies is that you will learn how to use them on your own so they become a lifelong skill that can really improve the quality of your life.
Additional areas of focus: Eating disorders, Self esteem, Bipolar disorder, Aging and Geriatric Issues, Autism and Asperger Syndrome, Codependency, Dependent Personality, Drug and Alcohol Addiction, Eating and Food-Related Issues, Family of Origin Issues, Forgiveness, Guilt and Shame, Life Purpose, Mood Disorders, Personality Disorders, Postpartum Depression, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), Self-Harm, Smoking/Vaping Cessation, Social Anxiety and Phobia, Women's Issues, Workplace Issues
Clinical approaches: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness Therapy

I stalled getting therapy for a year because of the bad experiences that I've had with the other ones on this platform and in real life. I matched with constance but it took me a year of anxiety and contemplation to try therapy again. I've only had a few sessions with her, but she's been really kind and empathetic and timely and I'm just overall shocked at confidently saying I have a good therapist now. I would recommend her to anyone.
