About me

Thank you for your interest in my background! I am a Counselor who has worked in the field since 2014, and in that time I have provided treatment for a wide range of conditions including, but not limited to: Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Substance Use Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, Bipolar Disorder, Personality Disorders, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Adjustment, LGBTQ, Military & Veterans, Occupational, Crisis Intervention, Homelessness, Couples, Polyamory, Eating Disorders, Sexual Violence, Domestic Violence, Childhood Trauma, and Multicultural.

I am a U.S. Army veteran, and I served from 2007-2015. I received my education at Marshall University and have a BA in Psychology and MA in Counseling, with concentrations respectively in Women's Studies and Violence, Trauma, and Grief. The treatment modalities that I use are eclectic and most frequently theoretically oriented toward: Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, and Cognitive Processing Therapy. I use a direct and grounded approach to helping my patients reach their treatment goals, and monitor progress using psychological assessments and collaboration with you.

I work on developing a strong therapeutic relationship with my patients, as this is the foundation that promotes the best outcome for achieving treatment goals. It takes a great deal of strength and commitment to overcome the challenges involved addressing mental health issues, and building a happier and more satisfying life. Your decision to explore your options with counseling services is the first step on your road to recovery, and I wish you all the best on your journey.

I hope that gives you a clear picture of what to expect working with me, and I look forward to helping you with your goals.

Courtney is amazing! in a very short period of time she can get to the heart of a problem and cut through the bull to help me focus on what's important. at the same time she does not judge at all. she is 100% supportive and it's so great to have that.

Courtney is so helpful and not the slightest bit judgemental. She is great at her job and has already made a difference for me after only a few sessions.

I have been working with Courtney for a few weeks now, I really appreciate her willingness to tell me the things I need to hear, even if I don't want to hear them. She is always gentle, kind, and supportive in her counseling.
