About me

Hello, I’m Dr. Courtney Corrado, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of California. I earned my Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology and then went on to pursue my Doctorate degree (Psy.D) in Clinical Psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I have experience working in a variety of clinical settings including, Community Mental Health, Correctional Mental Health, private practice, and hospital settings. My experience has been predominantly working with adults.

My therapeutic approach involves working primarily through an existential framework but I also incorporate aspects of humanistic and positive psychology in my practice. I believe it is of paramount importance to cultivate a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients, so I make it a priority to meet people where they are at emotionally, while working at a pace that feels comfortable to them. My approach is individualized and culturally sensitive, and I strive to provide an environment that is safe, non-judgmental, warm and supportive. I aim to help clients find meaning, connection, and purpose in their lives as well as gain insight into the way they function in the world. I empower clients through exploring their choices and responsibilities, helping them find their voice, and working with them to increase their self-awareness, self-understanding, self-respect, and internal motivation. I am an avid believer in a holistic approach to therapy: mind, body, cultural, emotional and social factors. I also believe in the healing power of humor and appreciate how it can aid in opening up the therapeutic space.

In my free time I enjoy traveling, scuba diving, hiking, yoga, and cooking. I love animals and consider them to be incredibly healing.

Deciding to seek help through engaging in therapy can be a challenging and intimidating process. Whether this is your first time reaching out or if you are looking to continue your journey towards personal growth, I am here to support and guide you. I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you to open up possibilities to your most meaningful and authentic life!

After my first session with Dr.Corrado I felt so much relief. She made me feel comfortable and safe when sharing my thoughts. Her attentiveness allows her to quickly assess my situation and develop a customizable plan that I'm comfortable with. I think that's very important to have in a therapist.
