Hi! My Name is Crystal Pool I am an LPC with a license issued by the state of Texas and I have an M. A. in counseling. I have 3 years of counseling experience. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, coping with grief and loss, parenting issues, social behavior, and crisis counseling.
I am experienced in many counseling techniques and find myself to have an open minded compassionate approach. My counseling style and approach is Holistic/Integrative. I view counseling as a journey of self-exploration by the client, meant to increase their level of self-understanding and self-awareness. I act as the guide or facilitator of this journey. I do not act as an expert on the client’s life and do not dispense advice on how the client should be feeling, thinking and doing. Clients are more inclined to own and make changes if it is of their own creation. It is my job to help clients identify, develop and use their own resources to successfully solve problems and meet challenges.
One of the ways that I assist people is by helping them identify patterns that have become unhealthy, or dysfunctional. Patterns often operate outside of our awareness. They show up in our lives as repeating themes; thoughts or behaviors that keep you stuck, keep you from fully functioning and experiencing life as a whole and healthy being.
The client centered philosophy such as mine endeavors to create a counseling environment and develop an alliance within which client change and personal growth are realized. Every client is unique and every story is compelling, so one size definitely does not fit all.
