About me

Welcome. I’m here to help you on your journey to feeling healthier, stronger and just better in general. I truly enjoy my work and look forward to taking the journey with you.

I have a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a Clinical Concentration from Virginia Commonwealth University. I have been practicing in various settings for over 20 years. I have worked with children, adolescents and adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I’ve even had the honor of working overseas with American expats and being embedded with the US Navy on ships to provide mental health support for the crew. I enjoy variety!

I work with issues ranging from depression and anxiety to trauma recovery, relationship issues and grief and loss among others. I use a few different theoretical approaches to therapy and adjust to the unique needs of each of my clients. I believe in a strengths based approach which means we don’t just focus on what you want to change but also identify what’s going well or worked for you in the past and build on those strengths. We will start where you want to start. I believe therapy is truly a partnership and will take my cues from you. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Psychodynamic bases along with some other approaches. I believe in our connections with others and often work through Attachment and Systems theories.

I am committed to this work, profession and my clients. I find those who reach out are strong, resilient and impressive and feel honored that people allow me to take this life journey called therapy with them. I look for award to taking a journey with you.
