I am a licensed clinical social worker in Kansas and Missouri for over 20 years. In my years working as a social worker, I have worked in a variety of settings, including private practice for over 15 years, where I have provided counseling services to individuals, couples, families and groups. I have experience working with adults of all ages, children and adolescents. I have worked with survivors of childhood physical and sexual abuse, as well as survivors of domestic violence and other traumas. I also have experience in working with clients who are attempting to manage grief and all types of loss, as well as anger and emotional management and all forms of anxiety and panic disorders, including agoraphobia. In addition, I have also worked with couples on gaining clarity in their commitment to each other, improving their communication, understanding of themselves individually and as a couple and in building/rebuilding their trust, respect and affection for each other.
My treatment approach is warm, open and welcoming to all clients and their life experiences. I attempt to find commonality in experiences in building rapport and use this commonality to normalize clients feelings and experiences. I partner with clients in developing their realistic and achievable goals for treatment, as well as working toward those goals. It is my belief that all of us have the answers to our problems, but obstacles sometimes obscure those answers; therefore, my role as counselor is to partner with and assist clients in exploring and minimizing their obstacles in order to clearly see their solutions and formulate the appropriate response to those solutions. I recognize that it takes an aware and determined person to take the steps to improve their life; I honor my client's decision to enhance their life.
I am here to assist and empower you on your journey to better well-being. Taking the first step to sign up for individual therapy can take courage and commitment and I am proud of you for getting started! I look forward to hearing from you!

Cynthia's warm but straightforward communication is absolutely perfect. I feel very in control of my therapy experience as she gives me guardrails to tap into my own inner wisdom. Cynthia intuitively knows when I need to dig deeper on a subject, when I need particular kinds of support, and when I just need someone to cheer me on. I've grown so much with her guidance. I would recommend Cynthia to anyone on the tumultuous (and sometimes exciting) road to self discovery.

Cynthia is amazing! I was a little skeptical about online therapy at first but as soon as I met Cynthia and started talking with her I knew that this was the right choice to make for myself. She is very understanding and very helpful when it comes to me looking deeper within myself. I can truly say I am so happy I’ve made this discussion. Cynthia is the perfect match

After a few months with Cynthia, I can honestly say that I am in a much better place than I was when I first started therapy. She was patient, professional, and insightful throughout every single session, and she has a way of often seeing through to the root of many issues. With her help, I was able to identify multiple tendencies about myself that I wasn't even aware of, but by addressing them, I have become a much happier and healthier adult. Thanks Cynthia!!

Cynthia has been a wonder to work with, she's very helpful in finding out worksheets that would work well with what I'm struggling with at the moment. She offers advice and laughter when I'm struggling and always responds when available if I message her while I'm struggling with one issue or another. I'm very grateful for Better Help and for Cynthia

I was very skeptical about starting therapy again due to bad experiences with therapists in my past, but Cynthia completely took all my worries of that away! She is very attentive and truly compassionate with her work. She is very easy to talk to as she shows no judgement and listens to you thoroughly. If you’re hesitant about making the jump, DO IT!! I HIGHLY recommend Cynthia. We have only been working together for about 5 weeks now, but my life has definitely changed for the better already.

I was stuck with my divorce for years and family issues before deciding to try therapy, and Cynthia helped me "adjust the rear-view mirror" (in her words) and finally get a glimpse of my future steps. I have never exactly believed in the power of therapy, especially not online therapy, but this experience has altered my perception. I also do hope to have another session with Cynthia soon.

I’ve had people tell me I really needed to have therapy after my divorce and being conned out of about everything I had at the same time. I don’t trust local people not to put what they hear in the local gossip, and I hate people seeing me cry. With the online option, I feel more comfortable and therapy with Cynthia is like talking to an old friend who is non judge mental.

I've only seen Cynthia a few times so far but I've truly enjoyed our sessions together. She's empathetic and I get the sense that she's doing her utmost to really understand and *hear* what I'm saying. Her follow up and care has made me feel seen and valued. I look forward to working more with her in the future- on my future!

Cynthia is great! We have only had a few session so far and she is completely understanding, supportive and has really helped provide a perspective that I would not be able to understand or see elsewhere. She listens to what I say and we discuss the situation and what I can do to make it better or to help not feel that way in the future.
