I have a Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling from University of Northern Colorado. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Licensed Addictions Counselor. For the past 7 years, I have worked in community mental health providing treatment for clients who are facing issues with depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance abuse, bipolar disorder, and relationship problems. I teach people skills that can assist in managing intrusive thoughts that can lead to depression and anxiety. I enjoy helping clients find ways to improve their lives and watching their personal growth during the course of treatment. I listen to people's struggles and try to help them find ways to learn to cope with, change, or improve their situation in order to help people move forward with their lives. Because I also have a background in treating addiction, I am happy to help provide guidance and support around those facing this very difficult issue.
I have run DBT groups for 6 years and it's a framework that I use in individual counseling as well. I find it incredibly helpful for people to have a set of healthy coping skills to manage their stressors. I tend to meet clients where they're at so we an work together to help them move forward and meet their goals.
Outside of being a therapist, I enjoy reading, running, and hiking. These are some of the ways I practice my own self care. I enjoy being able to challenge myself to read more books and run more miles!
I look forward to working with you to help you feel happier, healthier, and stronger.

Dana's very attentive and I feel great being able to talk to her when I'm having trouble.
I have not worked with Dana for very long but I do appreciate her compassionate, non judgmental approach.
Dana responded to my concerns with empathy and enthusiasm. She had great ideas and the outside perspective I needed to see some of my challenges as opportunities. Highly recommended.
Dana has helped me so much since I started seeing her. She is very responsive and always gives a variety of opinions/advice if I feel like a piece of advice isn’t working for me.
I have made a lot of improvement in my life thanks to my counselor, Dana Krumholz. I was in a dark place when I began using the BetterHelp app and it has helped me in making better choices in my life and having more control over my emotions. Day to day, I have started to understand that I am not crazy, I am a person who makes mistakes and life is complicated. Talking to Dana has also helped me because I have different views from most and she doesnt make me feel ashamed or wrong for feeling the way I do. I am extremelt glad to have met her and extremely thankful to BetterHelp for making it possible for someone like me to find help. I have had this counselor for a few months and I already feel like my life is more on track then ever before. Thank you, Dana. You're amazing at what you do, continue the good work.
Dana has been wise and kind in her thoughts and advice. She seems to truly understand what I’m going through and I know I can trust her responses.
She's very receptive and reminds me of the positive things that I know myself but just tend to forget at bad times. Very sincere. Someone that I would seek out to be friends with for sure.
