I am a licensed mental health professional in Florida, with 20+ years of experience. My approach to therapy focuses on a positive and empowering approach, encompassing a range of techniques from different theories. I will assist you in focusing on your strengths and how you can increase your own resilience and adaptability to help you through difficult times versus focusing trying to change things beyond your control. I believe that mental health is a lifestyle, just as we need to maintain our physical health, mental health requires work and attention too. Mental health is not a 2-sided concept--it is not that you are or you are not mentally healthy, think of it as more of a continuum or spectrum with optimal functioning on end and least optimal functioning on the other end. I have been speaking to Dr. Scoville for a few months now and I have gotten so much benefit out of it so far. Not only is she a great listener but she also gives me really valuable advice and useful strategies to try out to help me deal with my anxiety. I feel really comfortable talking to her and my sessions with Dr. Scoville have helped me to process my thoughts and understand myself better. She also remembers the little details about me which makes me feel even more that she really does listen and also makes me feel more connected to my counselor.
