I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Arizona. I received my Doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from Barry University, and my Master's Degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. I have been a counselor for the past 10 years, and have developed expertise in the areas of process addictions (gambling, video games, etc.), relationship issues, task management / motivation / procrastination, academic struggles, and many sources of anxiety or depression people face in the regular flow of daily living. I am also a researcher in the Social Science field, and have contributed multiple publications on video game playing and online education if you are interested in knowing about my other work in the field of counseling. I provide counseling services for Individual, Couples, & Family needs, and am excited to work with all ranges of age from adolescent to older adult groups.
I am a graduate school professor, so in most cases my approach can be tailored to the needs of my individual client. I have spent many years developing my ability to manage client conversations through the lenses of Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution-Focused / Brief, Mindfulness / Acceptance-Commitment, Existential / Person-Centered, and also Narrative therapies. My approach and treatment plans are always chosen based on the needs of the client I am talking to in those moments, so your goals will always be your own when you are working with me. We will work at your pace and decide together what the best path is for your specific journey.
I am excited to meet you and provide the support you are looking for to continue your life's journey!

Dr. Kaufmann is very kind, understanding, and an active listener. He continues each session to better understand your emotions, thoughts, and provide advice to help cope with what you have going on in your life.
I love Dr. Kaufman. He is great at his job, well educated, and I feel really comfortable talking to him about what’s going on in my life. Also, he using great pop culture references to explain different concepts and help me through things.
