About Me

I am a licensed mental health counselor but also have a license in substance abuse disorders. In time as a counselor I have worked with a broad client base, including people struggling with major depressive disorder, bi-polar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, relationship conflicts both professional and personal, family problems, and substance abuse disorders. I have been greatly honored to walk with some very brave and inspiring people and look forward to working to more people who are ready to make real changes to their lives.

My approach looks to first establish an environment of unconditional positive regard in which the people feel safe to bring to the surface the realest parts of their lives and make meaning out their struggles. I do this by combining cognitive behavioral theories, emotion focused treatment, and mindfulness, however, each person I connect with will have a personalized approach that will help them find the places in his/her life that can bring about a better quality of living.

I have only had two sessions with Daniel but both sessions I have ended with a positive attitude. I have been given homework that is really benefiting my everyday life.

I started working with Dan a few months ago when my marriage was falling apart and I just wasn't handling things well. I felt lost when trying to make decisions and navigate it all. He provided an objective assessment and has since helped me reclaim a sense of agency in my own life. Dan is an empathetic counselor with a pragmatic approach, and I highly recommend his services.

Daniel has been really helpful so far in my journey, even after only one session. He’s encouraging me to simplify my approach to all of the stuff I’m dealing with and I’m already noticing a difference in how I feel every day. My problems are not gone, or even completely solved but I’m more confident that there are solutions to them because of working with Daniel. I’m used to being so overwhelmed with everything I deal with in life that I find it challenging to focus or narrow down mental and emotional health priorities. With more clear directives and ideas about how I can see and do things, I feel more equipped to de clutter and organize my mind. Thanks Daniel!!

Wonderful provider who brings perspective and physiological response education to mental health care.

Daniel has been awesome. I felt comfortable sharing with him immediately, as he worked right out the gate to find common ground with me. He is timely, helpful, and compassionate. I would recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat.

Honestly Mr. Schroeder has been very responsive. I’m not sure if online counseling works for me. I need to be called out on my crap.
