About me

I am a dual licensed mental health counselor with licenses in both substance-abuse and mental health disorders. In my time as a counselor I have worked with a broad client base, including people struggling with major depressive disorder, bi-polar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, relationship conflicts both professional and personal, family problems, and substance abuse disorders. I have been greatly honored to walk with some very brave and inspiring people and look forward to working to more people who are ready to make real changes to their lives.

My approach looks to first establish an environment of unconditional positive regard in which a person can feel safe to bring out the most authentic parts of their lives and make meaning out their struggles. I do this by combining cognitive behavioral theories, emotion focused treatment, and mindfulness. Each person I connect with will have a personalized approach that will help them find the places in his/her life that can bring about a better quality of living.

Daniel is very professional. His warmth and caring comes through in his communication. He checks in regularly and he seems to really hear what I am saying. I highly recommend him!

Daniel is easy to talk to, just like a friend but is professional in finding ways to help you with what you need. Very supportive, I have tried multiple mental health providers and this has been one of the best experiences. I plan to stay with Daniel as long as possible.

This guys a beast and great guy to have a conversation with. Really causes me to forget all the stigma against guys going to therapy and just focus on what I need to focus on with him.

Out of the six or seven therapists I’ve tried over the last 10+ years, Daniel is the only one I have EVER built true trust with. I can tell him every part of me I’ve hidden, free of judgement, so we can work through it. If there is judgement, it’s mutual, respectful, and 10000000% based off of the strong relationship we’ve built. He will call out and help shift the narrative of my self talk and the assumptions I jump to, bringing me back to concrete facts and evidence. He’s the first counselor I’ve ever delved into my drug habits with, and for the first time in……15 years?? I have things slightly more under control because he’s helping me work through things instead of automatically resorting to old habits. I sometimes wish I could have more than one session a week because so much goes on, but he has gone out of his way to respond to messages in his off time, providing an incredible resource between sessions. I appreciate the playfulness he brings to therapy - we talk about a lot of really really hard things, and he’ll somehow find a way to make me laugh when he sees me shutting down. He’s great at knowing when the silence needs to remain silent and I need to sit with it vs the silence is harming my thought patterns and he redirects it. I cannot speak higher of my experience with Daniel and I am so so grateful to have him in my corner. I would be in a much darker place without his support and the skills and lessons he’s taught me. Honestly, even when we just have a vent session, it’s helpful to complain to a neutral party.
