Hello! Welcome to counseling. I am a registered art therapist (I will explain this a little more in the next paragraph) and licensed professional counselor with a substance abuse specialty. I have been practicing in Wisconsin for over 10 years. In 2011 I received my Master’s degree in Art Therapy with a Concentration in Counseling. . I have experience working with a wide array of individuals whom have various mental health diagnoses, behavioral disorders, and substance use disorders. I specialize in art therapy but provide traditional talk therapy as well. I have a very trauma informed approach to the work I do, and use this along with many other evidence based treatment modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing techniques. My style is highly person centered, so you will always feel in control of your sessions, and be able to set your own treatment goals. If you are not sure, I can help guide you to them.
If you are unfamiliar with what art therapy is, here is a very brief rundown. Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that combines the creative process of art making and/or other creative outlets (i.e. - writing or theater) with the theories of psychology. Creating art can in and of itself can be a way to experience self-expression and healing, but it can also be used as a tool to facilitate verbal communication. Art therapy is about self-exploration and releasing negative emotions and thoughts that we sometimes hold inside of us and not about making “good” art. Therefore, prior experience or skill in art is not a requirement to successfully engage in art therapy. If you are interested in learning more about Art Therapy, or are specifically interested in using art therapy as part of your services with me, please let me know and we will ensure a way to incorporate that during our sessions or as homework directives to work on any issues you are wanting to resolve or improve. Please feel free to ask me any questions that you may have either about myself or about my therapeutic approaches.
I truly look forward to working with you. Be well.

She was able to get right down to the problem and pinpoint with solutions to follow. Solution oriented!
she is a great listener, and is very helpful
Danielle is very friendly and easy to talk to. It’s was really easy to get things started and my sessions flew by before I realized. It’s just natural feeling. I would recommend to anyone dealing with anxiety, especially if you’re open minded enough to try different methods. I’ve learned a bunch that I’ll continue using to help myself.
Danielle is warm and comfortable to talk to and you can truly feel like she wants to help you.
After a plethora of in-person counselors that just didn’t work, I am absolutely relieved to have found Danielle! She has been a great help and gives me the tools I need to succeed.
Danielle is amazing. Truly an amazing help in my life.
Danielle is very responsive and understanding. I have only been using BetterHelp for a little while now, and she has made it a lot easier to tell her what's all going on. Can't thank her enough for all the support!
Danielle has a very positive aspect on things, but also acts like a real person that truly understands how difficult things are. She also uses her resources to help me understand better of what's going on with me a ways to work though them. If something doesn't help, then she finds another way.
Danielle is wonderful. She does a great job staying in touch and taking the time to listen to concerns. All of her advice has been very helpful so far.
