About me

My name is Danielle Poehlman and I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. Many of my family members have suffered from addiction, mental illness and trauma. After losing two older siblings under complicated drug and mental health related circumstances, I decided to become a therapist. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Florida International University with a bachelor's degree in psychology, and obtaining a master's degree in mental health counseling from Capella University, this goal was finally achieved.

Through my own personal growth and educational journey, I have implemented a variety of modalities to facilitate the wholistic healing of mind, body and spirit. I am a Certified Reiki Master with over 20 years of hands-on experience. I am knowledgeable on the concept of Highly Sensitive Persons or HSPs, (also known as Empaths), as I have found a large number of clients can be assisted profoundly with just simple education and practical coping strategies.

My counseling style is motivational and strengths-based. My goal is to utilize profound understanding and my own empathic skills as supplements to psychotherapy in order to assist in the healing process. Through rapport and trust, we will work as a team to tailor treatment plans and therapeutic dialog to suit individual needs. I have assisted clients from a multitude of backgrounds and issues, including addiction, anxiety, grief/loss, abuse, trauma, depression, bipolar disorder, relationship issues (kink-friendly) and more. These issues do not discriminate. Those that appear the strongest often struggle the most. Those that appear joyful sometimes reach the depths of despair. There is no shame in asking for help; it is, in fact, one of the most courageous decisions you will ever make. Please reach out.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Danielle Poehlman. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

The only reason I wouldn’t recommend Danielle is because I don’t want her to be over booked and I miss a session. Lol she has supported me through absolute warfare and I’m grateful she exists.

Danielle has been a truly wonderful therapist, and it has been an honor to go through my mental wellness journey with her by my side. She consistently showed genuine compassion, offered realistic guidance, and provided thoughtful, constructive feedback that helped me grow. Therapy is not easy, but it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I am deeply grateful for the support, care, and encouragement Danielle gave me, and I could not be more thankful to have had her as my therapist.

Before I found Danielle, my hope in mental health professionals was completely lost. I immediately felt comfortable with her. She makes me feel seen and heard. Something I am generally lacking in my life.

Not sure where I would’ve been if I didn’t decide to use BetterHelp and meet her.
