I am a clinical social worker as well as a clinical addiction counselor, licensed in Kansas, with almost 30 years of experience working as a therapist. I also have worked in substance abuse treatment facilities, mental health centers, an in-patient psychiatric treatment center, a primary care clinic, and 2 different hospices. There are not too many situations that I have not helped clients with in some way. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, career challenges, ADHD, and end-of-life issues (both patients and families with loved ones who are experiencing serious illness). I have also helped many people who have experienced various kinds of trauma or abuse.
My counseling style is laid-back, caring, and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and other traditional “talk” therapies, as well as more brain-based therapies such as EMDR & somatic approaches. We will work together to meet your unique and specific needs.
It takes courage to seek support for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. If you are ready to take that step I am here to support and empower you.
I look forward to working with you!
