Dr. Darlene Witcher, Psychologist
About me
I am a clinical psychologist licensed in the state of Texas. I began working with eating disorder clients as a Bachelor level mental health professional in 1980. During my graduate training years I conducted research and clinical practice with eating disorder populations. Following completion of licensure requirements in 1992, my career at the Houston Veterans Affairs Medical Center focused on treatment of trauma. I have experience in treatment of anxiety disorders and depression as well. Additionally, I have 30 years of experience working for Texas Medical Center institutions in the area of preventive medicine and weight management.
My work with clients has taught me that the relationship is the most basic aspect of the therapy experience. I will strive to achieve a trusting and safe relationship for the context of our work together. My primary approach is cognitive behavioral in nature, and I will incorporate psychodynamic aspects as well when indicated according to your needs.
When you are ready to begin a therapeutic journey, I will be here to listen and guide you. I look forward to hearing from you and starting you on your path to enhanced personal satisfaction.
