Dr. David Ransen, LMFT
About me
I am a dual-degreed doctor. I earned my PhD from Cornell in psychology in 1979. 25 years later, I earned my second degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Nova. Then I trained and was Board Certified in Clinical Hypnotherapy.
I served on the faculties at Princeton, Tulane, Cornell, and Harvard Medical School. My internship was at Worcester State Hospital. I have trained over a thousand mental health professionals and educators.
Unlike most therapists, I have no long-term clients. If a therapist who sees you every weeks for months is helping, then why do you have to keep returning?
I don't encourage long-term therapy. I suggest clients fire me as soon as they achieved what they hoped to achieve. That's how I know I helped them. They no longer need me.
