About me

I am a clinically licensed professional counselor licensed in Illinois. I have over 15 years of direct experience providing therapy. I have over 30 years of working in the social service field which has given me the opportunity to work with a wide range of populations and concerns. Concerns I have counseled include depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress, and a wide range of relationship issues that impact a person's mental health and well-being.
My counseling style and approach is person centered. Each person is an individual with their individual concerns and needs. Patients often described me as down-to-earth therapist with a sense of humor and true compassion. Depending on your concerns personality and situations I will adjust my approach often combining cognitive behavioral, rational emotive and more.
Thank you for seeking help I will do my best to help you improve your situation. You have taken a very proactive step by deciding to seek therapy. The outcome of your treatment depends largely on your willingness to engage in this process which may at times result in considerable discomfort. Remembering unpleasant events and becoming aware of feelings attached to those events can bring ongoing feelings of anger, depression, anxiety, etc. There are no miracle cures I cannot promise that your behavior or circumstances will change. I can promise to support you and do my very best to understand you and understand repeating patterns as well as to help you clarify what it is that you want for yourself.
