About me

I’m Debora Miranda, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) dedicated to helping individuals improve their emotional well-being and overall quality of life. I view therapy as a collaborative, empowering process and aim to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe, heard, and supported.

My clinical focus includes helping adults navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, grief, trauma, and relationship difficulties. I have a particular appreciation for identity development and self-esteem work, and I tailor therapy to meet each client’s unique needs and personal goals.

Having lived in Portugal, the U.K., and Italy before settling in the U.S., I consider myself a multiculturally competent therapist. I value the richness of diverse backgrounds and the ways culture and identity shape our lived experiences. My clients often come from a wide range of cultural, spiritual, and personal backgrounds, and I strive to honor that diversity in the therapeutic process.

As a former military spouse, I also understand the unique stressors and transitions that come with military life. My work with trauma survivors, including Holocaust survivors, has further deepened my commitment to providing compassionate, trauma-informed care.

I draw from a range of therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Strengths-Based approaches, Narrative Exposure Therapy, and concepts from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These methods help clients develop insight, build practical coping skills, and create meaningful change in their lives.

Clients describe me as warm, grounded, and collaborative. I’m here to support you in building self-awareness, emotional resilience, and a more connected, meaningful life.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Debora Miranda. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Mrs. Miranda is a very good therapist. I have experienced several other therapists . Some of the less than positive qualities of those therapist are not present in Mrs. Miranda‘s therapy style. She is focused on the conversation while we are in session, helpful with her ideas, knowledgeable, and able to quickly ascertain what the underlying issues are. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking therapy.

Deborah has helped me figure out my relationships and has helped me have a voice, while growing up being a people pleaser. She helps me learn how to reflect those feelings into day to day life. She has made me more confident in my feelings and more aware looking forward. Looking forward to working with Deborah more!
