About me
My approach is positive and hopeful while realistic, and client focused and directed. My approach is informed by Jungian perspectives, as well as cognitive behavioral approaches. I have a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Colorado State University. I live in the mountains of Northern New Mexico. Theorists and clinicians who inform my work include Carl Rodgers, Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Jacques Lacan, and Bracha Ettinger. I hold faith in the fact that we continue to grow heal and develop throughout the life span, and that each age and stage presents challenges and can also add richness and meaning to our life experiences. I feel passionate about the therapeutic encounter and the possibilities for healing and transformation. I bring this philosophy and clinical lens to our work together in areas ranging from trauma recovery to addiction recovery to grief and loss work, and related issues including depression, anxiety, PTSD, loneliness, and life stage challenges, including overwhelming parenting or caregiving stresses and dilemmas. Attending to emotion and the psychological experience can often help create a shift in situations or difficulties that have felt stuck and stagnant for years or decades. My approach is friendly, positive, thorough and practical. In a field that emphasizes the individual, I acknowledge the importance of systemic factors, including notably income inequality, and inequality based on sex and racialization that impact our experiences and mental health, as a factor in making decisions in our lives for our healing and wellness.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Deborah Gaudet. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
I couldn’t have come this far without her!
Ms. Gaudet helped me tremendously over the course of a few months. She is great at what she does and how she does it.
Deborah is a perfect match for me, she has such wisdom and insight, I appreciate her advise and look forward to my meetings with her. Always a bright light during my week!!
Deborah has helped me tremendously in just a few short weeks. She is very responsive and encouraging without toxic positivity.
Deborah is a friendly individual. Very encouraging and understanding. Offers sane and logical advice, and taught me that success is won by taking the little steps needed to overcome your anxieties; It’s not an overnight ordeal, and time is your best friend in developing a healthier mental landscape.

Deborah has been amazing. She is very good at funneling my thoughts and reading between the lines and getting straight to the concern. So far this has been my best experience with therapy and I am so appreciative of Deborah!
She was very good timely and helpful.
Deborah is just the kind of therapist I've been looking for. Attentive, affirming, thought provoking and very insightful. She is both fun to talk to and a great support in figuring out how to handle my various issues.
Deborah had been incredibly helpful and I appreciated her support.
I didn’t have many sessions with Deborah, but in those sessions I felt that I was understood, helped and given something that made think and analyse myself. Helped me to understand myself a bit better.
