About me

Greetings! So excited that you have decided to try out BetterHelp. A strong relationship with your counselor can be the most important factor in the experience being successful. Here is some general information about me to help you feel out if we might be a good fit.

I worked in marketing for 10 years before transitioning to counseling. After 3 years at an amazing program in Portland, we moved to rural Wyoming to start a family and began working in the counseling field. I’ve worked for a Psychologist running relationship and self-esteem groups, as well as individual sessions for clients struggling mostly with depression and anxiety.

For the past 4 years, I have run my own practice in Wyoming working with couples and individuals for a broad range of reasons. During this time, I have also worked in the school systems and have extensive experience working with teenagers and families struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma and resilience.

My counseling style is reflective listening, and client-centered/solution-focused. Having a judgmental free space where you can simply be yourself and voice what’s going on for you without fear of what someone else will think or say is so freeing and allows people to move through obstacles quickly. I check-in often to make sure sessions are meeting your expectations and meeting your goals.

Reaching out can be intimidating, and this process can feel overwhelming. I hope to help alleviate some of those concerns and look forward to hearing from you!

Deborah is incredibly supportive, even when she challenges you as a patient. She is very personable and easy to talk to. I feel very lucky to have Deborah as a guide and support system when things get tough

One of the best counselors I have seen in the 15 years of counseling I have been going to. She is thoughtful, and a great listener. She is great at finding the root of issues and helping to redirect your thoughts to more positive thinking. She is kind and non-judgemental.

I have tried/done counseling before but never really connected with any of the counselors until Deborah Klinnert. She is incredibly smart, great listener, very empathetic and knows where to guide my in my thought process. She has significantly improved my psychological health.

I couldn’t recommend Deborah enough. Finding a counsellor that you click with and your comfortable talking to was one of my worries when starting counselling however Deborah has helped me so much this year and those worries faded for sure. I’ve never felt like I’d get through my hard times and always thought I’d feel stuck but honestly all that has changed. I now feel understood, listened to and my experiences feel valued. So thank you again Deborah for all your help, carry on being awesome!

Fantastic so far. A lot of loads taken off my shoulders in an emotional sense so far, and I’m super happy to be doing this with Deb.

Deborah’s reflective listening style is such an effective way for me to connect with her and allows me to view my concerns through a lens of empathy. I feel completely safe in my sessions and Deborah has the fantastic ability of helping pick up on themes, behaviors, or patterns that I can’t recognize myself which allows me to set goals and work through obstacles more clearly. I would highly recommend her and look forward to continuing to work with her.
