About Me

I am a Dual Diagnosis Counselor independently licensed in treating mental health and substance abuse. I have over twenty years experience as a face to face therapist. I am trained in a variety of treatment modalities including cognitive behavioral, solution focused, Trauma informed Care, Reality therapy, Existentialism, and Motivational Interviewing. I also blend in a Didactic (teaching) approach on a variety of issues such as communication skills, conflict resolution, stress reduction, anxiety reduction, self esteem assessment and tools for healthier relationships. I believe the relationship between counselor and client is extremely important. I work to create safe space where you feel valued, heard, respect and supported. Open and honest dialogue is a must. I do not judge but see us as a team working together. My goal is to aid you on a journey of self discovery, healing and growth. You have made the most important step on this journey, you reached out for help. This is a brave step, one I am glad you have decided to take. I look forward to working with you.

Deborah has made me feel completely safe, secure and supported during our sessions. She validates and shows great empathy towards each of my concerns, — helping me in providing ways and remedies in which I can use as coping methods to go about my daily life. I have always received responses from her within a timely matter.

Deborah has helped me in more ways than one. She’s always there for me and provides relatable advice and helps me through my obstacles. I’d highly recommend to anyone a therapist like her!

Debbie is wonderful! She is down to earth, she understands everything I'm going through, and she is always willing to try to give solutions. I feel like I can (and have) tell her anything, she is so awesome. I've never connected more with a therapist and I am very grateful for her.

Deborah has been a huge help to me. She listens and allows me to express myself freely without fear of judgement. She encourages me to take care of myself and gives great feedback. She has been amazing to talk to.

I only got to speak with her once but she was very insightful and helped me through my situation. She gave amazing advice, gave me a worksheet as well and I appreciate taking the time to speak with me. Was my first therapy session and it was nice to talk to a outside source.
