BIO
I am extremely passionate about helping people. I worked for more than twenty years with high youth and in the helping field. I am innovative and culturally competent in working with individuals from hard place. I attended UCO for my undergraduate degree and obtained my master’s degree in Human Relations with emphasis on Clinical Mental Health. I then pursued my licensure in the state of Oklahoma to become a license Professional Counselor (LPC).
I have worked at the Oklahoma County Juvenile Burau facility from 2007 to 2021 working with the youth in detention. While there I seen a need to look at the youth from trauma lens and became an active player in implementing Trauma Informed Training for the all the employees in detention and probation. I became a TBRI Practitioner to assist best practices to implement healthy skills of engagement with the youth and staff. I was also trained by the HALO Foundation to become a trainer for Making Sense of Your Worth program. I provided parenting course to the OCJB parents. I also have been trained in EMDR.
In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club and implementing a program for the community called Strengthening Families. I enjoy learning new information and obtaining new skills to be a competent helper. I also enjoy writing.
