I have over 10 years of direct clinical mental health counseling experience that includes Christian Counseling, and an additional 20 years of administrative experience working in the mental healthcare industry. I have worked in a variety of settings utilizing talk-based therapies to provide support to clients. I have also worked in the Juvenile Justice System providing Mental Health Counseling.

My approach:
The most common theoretical approaches I use in my work are integrated evidence-based practices that are individualized to each client with a holistic client-centered, collaborative, and culturally sensitive approach. I utilize various techniques and skills drawn from recognized therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic, Christian Counseling, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-centered Therapy.

I specialize in providing therapy to adolescents and teenagers, adults, families, and groups. My expertise includes crisis counseling and stabilization, trauma, PTSD, Grief and loss, addictive behaviors, domestic and intimate partner violence, treating symptoms related to anxiety, depression, psychotic disorders, religion and spirituality, and mood disorders. My unique approach is to just meet you where you are.

My communication style:
I utilize active listening techniques, reflecting, and asking open-ended questions during psychotherapy. Active listening involves showing interest in what my clients have to say, acknowledging that I am listening and understanding, and engaging with you throughout the conversation.

My journey to therapy:
As far back as I can remember, I have held interest and curiosity in understanding behaviors. My interest evolved into studying psychology and mental illness. I love the idea of helping a person face challenging situations through talk therapy, exploring solutions to life challenges, and discovering and addressing unhealthy root systems connected to dysfunctional behaviors. , and change their frame of mind, thereby improving their experience of life. Making an impact on lives keeps me motivated.

My goals for you:
I work collaboratively with clients to facilitate effectiveness and coping ability to adapt to challenges in life, enhance decision-making, and improve relationships.
