About me

Diana Ball is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). She graduated with her Masters of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Kentucky and is a doctoral candidate at the Kent School of Social Work at the University of Louisville. Diana specializes in working with clients with substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), personality disorders, and trauma.

Diana is a native of a rural Northeast Indiana community. She spent 20 years in Kentucky.

Diana has over 10 years experience in social work. She has worked with ages adolescent through older adulthood. She also has experienced working with a variety of settings including: Community Mental Health, residential, outpatient medical office, hospital, intensive outpatient treatment, outpatient counseling practice. This variety in practice allows Diana to pull resources and perspectives from each area of social work. She enjoys working with clients to identify clear and realistic goals and collaborate in ways to help clients meet their goals.

As a closet academic, Diana strives to provide evidence based treatment while tailoring her approach to meet the individual needs of each client. She frequently uses education on neuroscience to normalize client experiences and explain how suggested interventions may be helpful. Diana offers Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotion focused therapy, Motivational Enhancement Therapy. Diana works with each client to identify therapeutic techniques based on client needs and preferences. Regardless of therapeutic technique, Diana relies heavily on Social Work's person-in-environment perspective. This leads to a holistic approach. She enjoys helping client discover their inner strength and peace in the midst of life's chaos.
