Donna Handy, LMHC
About me
I’m Donna and I work with adults navigating medical trauma, chronic illness, major health events, anxiety, grief, and life transitions. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by the emotional impact of a diagnosis, hospitalization, transplant, disability, or other life-changing experience. Together, we create a supportive space to process difficult experiences, identify strengths, develop coping skills, and build resilience. My goal is to help clients move forward with greater confidence and hope. For clients who desire it, I welcome discussions of faith and can incorporate Christian beliefs and values into therapy.
As a two-time transplant survivor and Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I specialize in medical trauma, chronic illness, and life transitions. My master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling provided specialized training in adjustment to medical conditions and disabilities. I utilize CBT, MI, and EMDR-informed interventions.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re facing a health challenge, major life change, or difficult season. You don’t have to navigate it alone. I would be honored to provide a supportive space where you can heal, grow, and move forward with hope and confidence.
