About Me

My theoretical orientation is eclectic using a Humanistic approach in conjunction with Cognitive Behavioral therapy. I believe that no one should ever be judged for how they think or feel and should never feel as if they cannot or should not tell their counselor something. This unconditional positive regard for a person helps build the rapport need for solution focused interventions. I have worked in a variety of settings with all types of people. I started my carrier as a crisis counselor in a psychiatric receiving facility for children where I would complete assessments, consult with psychiatrists and assist the family in dealing with such a stressful event along with the child. I then went to work as an in home therapist for families that where in danger of being separated by DCF with the goal of not having the family separated by focusing on parenting skills and family conflict resolution. I also provided services for homeless families and individuals by assisting them through the circumstance of homeless and vocational guidance. I worked in a substance abuse treatment center for those that were mandated to treatment and I currently went back to working in an inpatient setting. Although I do not have extensive experience providing long term therapy, I have extensive experience in helping people through difficult times on a short term bases and have always wanted to to know how much more helpful I could be to a person if I had more time.

This was the first therapist i was matched to, and I immediately felt immense comfort. He was very non-judgmental. I felt safe in saying anything to him - he has definitely helped me incredibly. I recommend him for sure.
