About Me

I’m here to help you find freedom, peace and ease within the changes of your life. To help you understand the processes of your mind and how to use the wisdom of experiencing that understanding to heal.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon and Alaska and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington. My clinical experience is diverse, having worked with children, adolescents, adults and families. I have treated individuals struggling with anxiety, trauma, depression, addictions, developmental disabilities including autism spectrum disorders, impulse control and attentional difficulties, relationship problems, grief/loss, and family conflicts.

I practice a variety of therapeutic modalities including mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and gestalt expressive arts therapy. The therapeutic techniques that I use are tailored to the needs of the individual with an emphasis on the healing power of the therapeutic relationship.

My theoretical orientation is eclectic, drawing from several different philosophies including person-centered (humanistic), existential, transpersonal, ecopsychology, Buddhist psychology, and gestalt psychology. These philosophies propose that each person has within them an inherent transformative power to realize their human potential. My goal is to help my clients realize and take responsibility for this power, helping them look deeply at the unfolding process of experience, freeing them from unconscious relationship patterns that may be holding them back from realizing their potential.

Drew is compassionate, hard-working and incredibly intelligent. Would recommend him to anyone.

Drew is experienced, knowledgable, caring, kind, understanding and patient. He has skillfully and quickly figured out how to support me in breaking patterns in my mind and softly push me in the right direction to change the way I process events and memories. He has made time to speak to me when he has felt I need it sooner than our appointment, and truly has carved a pivotal role in my wellbeing. He links spiritual principles with rational and scientific arguments skillfully, and most importantly he is a lovely person. I highly recommend him.

Been working with Drew for a few months now and he’s been a great help. It’s easy to talk to him, he’s very knowledgeable and empathetic and he just gets me. He offers me great insight into my concerns and experiences and offers me tools to cope. He’s a great listener and show genuine care. His authenticity is another great trait that makes our sessions a success in my opinion and I’m very happy to have been matched with a therapist that ended up being a great fit in terms of personality, beliefs and his experience with circumstances like mine. I trust his input and knowledge and I’m definitely seeing improvement in how I feel now compared with how I was feeling a few months ago.

Drew is absolutely fantastic. He is caring, empathetic, and supportive. He allows you to express the concerns within your life and hold the space, yet also encourages growth and change. A powerful counselor and I truly appreciate his ability to both hold and reflect the narratives I express, while I work through it.

Of all the counselors I’ve had, Drew has been a true delight. There’s an air of honest flawed human in every level of conversation with him that I adore. It makes Drew easy to talk with and a pleasure to share my deep turmoil with. There’s no fear of judgment, minimization, or amplification of the events that we discuss just a fruitful direct non-judgmental intelligent conversation. He’s a true genius in understanding and communicating with another textbook genius. (Or at least that’s what my IQ says - my actual behaviors and thoughts may be divergent to that idea) :-). That being said - I am infinitely better of a human/mom/wife/girlfriend/doctor because of my interactions with Drew Miller and I know that this will only continue to improve. (If you read these Drew - Thank you)

Drew offers perspectives that are not what you would find in some textbook somewhere. He genuinely puts in the effort to expand your ideas and provokes you to try new methods that are wise, tolerant, and considerate to yourself and to others.

Drew listens, responds, and gives our sessions meaning. I am so pleased in the short time we’ve spent together and feel very understood.
