I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in Texas, with a masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Long Island University: Post and a bachelors in Psychology from The University of Georgia. Since the beginning of my undergraduate studies, I have been fervently expanding my knowledge and understanding of psychological wellness and developing the clinical skills needed to help others find healing for themselves.
I have had the opportunity to gain experience working in many settings across the field, including crisis services, residential treatment, student counseling, community mental health and private practice settings with individuals, families, and groups experiencing a diverse range of challenges. I am a Trauma-Informed Care practitioner, with training in EMDR, DBT, TF-CBT and Trauma Informed Yoga and in this work I have routinely led trainings and seminars for colleagues and community partners on LGBTQ+ inclusive practices, trauma-informed approaches and new developments in neuroscience that support integrative therapies.
I bring a holistic, culturally informed and integrative approach to my counseling and strive to build a space of deep collaboration, trust and safety. In that space, my hope is that clients may build connections that uncover the tools, skills, and support they need to thrive. This may include modalities from evidence based practices such as EMDR, DBT, ACT, somatic experiencing, mindfulness and polyvagal theories along with other systems of knowledge from beyond the Western framework. Each client and I work together to develop a plan with the strategies and exercises that are the right fit for their personality and needs. Ultimately, we strive to find a path that strengthens and stretches our sense of curiosity, creativity and community while deepening our connection to ourselves, to others, and to our own understanding of purpose and spirituality.

Dria is great, she understood what I needed really quickly, and has explained the underlying biological mechanisms of anxiety really well, which I've found really helpful for managing it. She's also provided a bunch of strategies to manage my anxiety which have all been immediately helpful

I appreciate Dria giving me the space to talk and to provide perspective and ask questions to help me better understand what I should be doing for myself. My sessions are a judgement free zone and I feel comfortable expressing my thoughts and feelings.

Dria is really helpful and a good person to talk to. So far from the few sessions that we had, I can see improvement in myself. It's hard for me to open up and to express and put my emotions into words but she always understands what I'm trying to say and she guides the sessions in a productive manner to where you feel better after each session. I also have a hard time trusting new people but with Dria I am able to take small step by small step to be the person that I was always meant to be and who I want to be.

Dria perfectly balances warmth and a compassionate, personable nature with real knowledge and expertise. I love that she creates space for me to explore what I want to in session, and how, before responding to that with exactly the right level of advice, interaction and encouragement. She also shares valuable resources and alternatives so I can look things up in my own time, without any pressure to do so or expectations that I should before my next session. She is also excellent at communicating with me should there be any schedule changes and always makes options available to me as quickly as possible. I always look forward to our sessions and have experienced massive growth, profound shifts and great leaps forward in my self-care and self-development. I am so grateful to have been matched so well with this counsellor.
