Earnell McGhaney, LPC
About me
“You are the expert on you.” This is a statement that I love sharing with my clients because I feel it emphasizes that you are the most important part of this relationship. Therapy is an opportunity to grow and explore oneself and I feel that the relationship between a client and therapist is of the utmost importance. I hold this relationship in high regard and look forward to walking along side you during this journey. I specialize in trauma counseling and marriage counseling. My goal in therapy is not just symptom reduction but liberation from suffering.
I work primarily with adults. I am available to see individuals and couples. I have received training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Somatic Experiencing, Trauma Focused CBT, and Gottman Couples Counseling. I offer both video and phone sessions.
Here is a little about me. I am originally from South Carolina and have lived here most of my life. I enjoy spending my free time reading and playing with my children. I also love martial arts, traveling, and playing the saxophone. That is enough about me, what I am really looking forward to is learning more about you.

Earnell is an open person with a penchant for active listening. He has a gift for re-framing scenarios into understandable and digestible bites of knowledge. At the end of each session, you leave with a feeling that not only have you been heard but that you have learned; more about yourself and where you can go from here.

Very understanding and able to provide different outlooks even if I throw out a curveball scenario, of even that may have happened and may and can repeat itself
