About me

"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." Zora Neale Hurston wrote these words and this reflects the heart of my practice. Each of us has a story that we tell ourselves and others about our lives. Sometimes the story we tell is a contamination story and sometimes it is a redemption story. I believe that we all have the ability to examine the experiences of our lives and shape the narrative to uncover and maximize meaning. When our lives feel meaningful we are more empowered to make choices that serve us best.
I practice psychodynamic/relational therapy utilizing expressive arts techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and narrative therapy to provide a platform for every person I work with to safely and effectively identify and work through issues that get in the way of experiencing a full and satisfying life.
My goal is to be present with you and create a safe environment, free of judgment, where we can work together to shift the way you tell your story and empower you to make conscious, life-affirming choices in service of the story you have yet to tell.

Reviews

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Eden Atwood. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

Eden has played a huge role in helping me unlearn harmful messages from childhood and process complex trauma. She's helped me learn how to set healthy boundaries, trust myself, play an active role in my relationships, and prioritize myself and my wellbeing. She takes a very wholistic approach, and joins and guides me in digging deep to identify root causes of issues (rather than just focusing on symptoms, which often doesn't solve the root cause and thus isn't a sustainable solution), which I appreciate so much. She has been a fantastic role model for me, and has helped me tell my story in a truthful way that is free of damaging cultural messaging. Would recommend Eden to anyone.

Eden is really lovely; she is always patient, comforting and calm, providing clarity when my thoughts are jumbled. When i need her to listen, she listens, and when I need her to talk, she says the right things. She really seems to understand and she puts in the effort to work out what I need. She is a really kind and accepting person who makes me feel safe and unjudged. She is the first person I have ever felt safe to really open to and she's the perfect counsellor for a first timer. Even after our very first session I felt like we were making progress. I really can't compliment her enough!
