About me

How can I help you? By listening and hearing what you say, by not judging, being open minded and gently guiding you and not telling you what to do - I am willing to help you. Here is a little bit about me - the only time I will talk a long time about me but its what I can offer you and other little snippets

I am a Registered member of the BACP and accredited member of the NCPS, here in the UK, with many years experience helping clients who have been through grief, abuse (sexual, mental, physical, emotional, monetary), bullying, anxiety, their sexuality or even their uniqueness of Aspergers, Sex or Porn Addiction, you are an abuser and want to change or just coming to terms with who they are.

I am over 60 and along with my age comes wisdom and experience to enable me to help you who is the important person in this therapeutic relationship. I am unique and what you see is what you get that being said there is not a lot that that you could empart that would phase me, I will accept you as you are and will help you become the person you want to be.

I treat everyone with the respect they deserve whilst keeping their confidentiality along with my non-judgemental approach. My counselling style is mainly Humanistic (you the client are the most important person in the room) that is person centred but also if needed I utilise the skills and Knowledge I have regarding cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) - we will work together to find the best way forward for you.

You have taken the first and hardest step by looking for help to work out your perceived problem and I am here to help by supporting and empowering you to change or accept depending on your needs. Remember we do not have to change who we are to 'fit in'.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Elizabeth Brereton. We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.

So far so good, but we've only spoken twice. But we chat on the plaform regularly and I am confident she reads what I write and takes it into consideration when we speak.

I've received a lot of help from Elizabeth for dealing with ruminating thoughts. This has improved a lot my overall well-being (I sleep much better now). Elizabeth is always kind and insightful. She is also really good at teaching you to be "kinder with yourself".

Elizabeth is a great therapist and a great person. Immediately I felt comfortable to talk to her and she showed great professionalism whilst also being down to Earth and relatable. Can't have wished for a better therapist to be allocated to!

Elizabeth Brereton is easy to talk to and makes the whole process fun. She is understanding and caring and shows compassion in her work. She listens and tries to respond accordingly, giving advice but mostly encouraging and supporting my own ideas. I have enjoyed working with her

I am only 2 sessions in with Elizabeth but I feel comfortable talking to her about my issues and I have not felt judged or patronised.
Elizabeth is a good active listener with useful insights into my problems. She is calm, patient, and self depricating. I feel relaxed and able to open up to her, and I am confident that her advice is sound and appropriate.
