I am a licensed clinical counselor in Ohio. For over ten years, I have worked with adults with addiction, anxiety, grief and depression. Many of my clients experienced past trauma, family conflicts, and issues with motivation and self-esteem.
My vision of counseling is to come along side the person who is hurting to offer understanding and encouragement. I am not the expert on your story. I listen and help you figure out a plan for moving forward. My counseling techniques emphasize behavioral strategies and interpersonal skills, while drawing on the tenets of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which emphasizes living and engaging in life according to your values. My overall approach is person-centered, and our interaction will always be underscored by respect and genuine care.
We want our lives to matter, we want our relationships to matter, and we want to be important to those we love. Being seen and being heard is crucial. Sometimes, just feeling understood for even a moment is priceless. For me, reading and writing about things that are going on in others' lives is second nature, and I am very glad to have the opportunity to work with you here in this forum!

I'm enjoying my communication with Elizabeth Shartle. Some things we've discussed are a little over my head. I don't fully understand some of the terms and definitions of those terms. However, I can see that she is a caring person who wants to help and I'm sure we will come together with more time.
I have only been working with Elizabeth a short time, but she has been extremely helpful. I feel like she listens to what I am saying, asks questions if she needs clarification, and has given me different things to think about to help put what I am going through into some perspective.
Elizabeth is an amazing and supportive counselor! She is very attentive to what I say to her making it so we can spend more time delving into what could be causing problems, rather than spending time repeating myself. I would highly recommend her to anyone that needs a kind, supportive, and educated mentor for their emotional and mental health.
Elizabeth is very kind and easy to open up to. She shares her knowledge and insight in ways that I connect with. And I always feel listened to and understood. She's helped me make a lot of progress in my life!
I very much like the help that Elizabeth has given me, she has helped me see things for what they are and for me to keep on improving myself.
Elizabeth is personable and genuine. I trust her and feel like I am being listened to. That was incredibly important to me when looking for an online counselor.
Working with Elizabeth has been such a wonderful experience. I was not sure how this type of counselling would work but my worries were eliminated the first time I spoke with her. She has such a kind voice and it really helped me to relax and open up about my thoughts and feelings. She also gave me excellent worksheets that helped me dig deeper. In summary she is kind, compassionate and very knowledgeable. I am thankful for the time that I have spent with her.
Kind, flexible, and helpful, Elizabeth helps me find peace and develop healthier ideas.
Elizabeth is extremely supportive and understanding. She’s not just an amazing listener, she’s an amazing rememberer and applier. She brings up things she knows I want to address even when I’m so kerbobbled that I forget. She’s awesome and just what I needed. So thankful for her!
She's a great lady and fitted with the right person, she can work wonders.
Elizabeth is wonderful. She is such a thoughtful and thorough writer and I love emailing her. I appreciate her insights and constant encouragement. Her authenticity is refreshing. She has been flexible about different methods of communication.
My counseling with Elizabeth has been incredibly helpful during a time when I had lost myself. She guided me with discussion, validation and suggestion rather than simply lots of homework. I felt safe telling her things I needed to get off my chest and guided to living the life I want. I'm grateful to her and Better Help for this incredibly accessible communication and the ability to reach help on my schedule.
She is very nice and understanding, I had tried someone in person before and it just didn’t seem to work out. Elizabeth on the other hands helps me a lot and gives me hope. She seems like she genuinely cares and her voice is very soothing. It’s like she tells you it’s going to be ok in just the tone of her voice. I am so glad I tried this because she gives me hope and faith that this won’t be me for the rest of my life.
