About me

I am a licensed clinical counselor in Ohio. For over fifteen years, I have worked with adults with addiction, anxiety, grief and depression. Many of my clients experienced past trauma, family conflicts, and issues with motivation and self-esteem.

My vision of counseling is to come along side the person who is hurting to offer understanding and encouragement as you share your story so that together we can figure out a plan for moving forward. My counseling techniques emphasize behavioral strategies and interpersonal skills, while drawing on the tenets of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT emphasizes living and engaging in life according to your values so that you make intentional choices and feel better with the choices you make. My overall approach is person-centered, and our interaction will always be underscored by respect and genuine care.

We want our lives to matter, we want our relationships to matter, and we want to be important to those we love. Being seen and being heard is crucial. Sometimes, just feeling understood for even a moment is priceless. I am very glad to have the opportunity to work with you here in this forum!

It’s astonishing that I’d be matched with a therapist who understood me so well. Perhaps she is just that accomplished? What I know is that I brought Elizabeth a crisis that I never expected to face. She’s helped me deal with it with a grace and insight that continue to amaze and heal. Can’t say enough good things.

Elizabeth is my first experience with therapy. I’ve been seeing her weekly for over a year. She has been instrumental in helping me understand my depression. I would recommend her without any reservations at all. She is easy to talk to, and makes such helpful observations and suggestions.

When I think about where I was when I first started therapy with Elizabeth, I am stunned at how much progress I've made. Elizabeth is gentle and thoughtful in her feedback and assessments. I have learned so much from her.
