I am a licensed clinical counselor in Ohio. For over fifteen years, I have worked with adults with addiction, anxiety, grief and depression. Many of my clients experienced past trauma, family conflicts, and issues with motivation and self-esteem.
My vision of counseling is to come along side the person who is hurting to offer understanding and encouragement as you share your story so that together we can figure out a plan for moving forward. My counseling techniques emphasize behavioral strategies and interpersonal skills, while drawing on the tenets of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT emphasizes living and engaging in life according to your values so that you make intentional choices and feel better with the choices you make. My overall approach is person-centered, and our interaction will always be underscored by respect and genuine care.
We want our lives to matter, we want our relationships to matter, and we want to be important to those we love. Being seen and being heard is crucial. Sometimes, just feeling understood for even a moment is priceless. I am very glad to have the opportunity to work with you here in this forum!

It’s astonishing that I’d be matched with a therapist who understood me so well. Perhaps she is just that accomplished? What I know is that I brought Elizabeth a crisis that I never expected to face. She’s helped me deal with it with a grace and insight that continue to amaze and heal. Can’t say enough good things.

Disclaimer: I am a poet.
She is a gem. Saddening that we must part. We stood to continue to address and resolve many of my difficulties. Her touch, warmth and wisdom engage in a singular way. Attentive and affirming, she encourages soul searching. I bore dark, embarrassing deeds to the woman. Recalled sour and scary dispositions of thought & feeling. Regret, failing, trauma, misapprehension & more were shared. Still, she listened, and gave what she had. I was often silent, too... between being stunned & speechless at her insights, I was quiet.
She is be an attractive offering to anyone who seeks counseling.

About ten minutes into the first session I knew I had made the right choice in deciding to use BetterHelp. They paired me with Elizabeth, and the fit is exactly right for me. I had spent almost two years trying to find a therapist on my own that understood me without any success.
Elizabeth is kind, honest, and clearly an expert at what she does. My time with her could not be better spent. Every communication gives me something to process and consider and ask more about. My life is better for having worked with her.

I have tried counseling in the past but have never found a good “fit.” Working with Elizabeth has been a very helpful experience. The convenience and anonymity of BetterHelp fit my needs very well, and Elizabeth was always quick to respond and was able to help me work through some difficult times. I would (and already have) recommend BetterHelp, and Elizabeth to friends seeking counseling. I am a healthcare provider and see first hand the impact a lack of mental health services has both on myself, and on my patients. I am thankful I found BetterHelp as an affordable and realistic option to care for my mental health and would recommend it to patients without access to more traditional home health services.
