About me

Welcome! After completing my masters in 1999 at Case Western Reserve University- Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, I immediately began working at a private inpatient psychiatric unit in my hometown. My focus there was treating predominately children and adolescents while working with their families and schools. Two years later I was able to obtain my independant license, and I joined a private practice where I have been for the past 20+ years! In private practice I have had the opportunity to broaden the clients I serve and for the past decade young adults/adults have compiled the majority of my caseload. Issues discussed have included the following: transitioning to adulthood, family/relationship stressors, difficulties with self control and decision making, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, and many more. What I have found remarkable over my clinical years is the consistency in which clients report the benefit of being able to talk/vent in a supportive, confidential, and non-judgmental setting. We all need support throughout our lives and a sense of connectiveness is vital to healing and understanding.

My treatment approach is not a "one size fits all" moto. Many considerations are taken into account, including my client's needs and goals. However, many times themes related to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy are incorporated. I am a fierce believer in the power of our minds and the subsequent connection between thoughts, feelings and behavior. Solution focused approach also instills a sense of hope for the future and emphasizes the importance of empowerment of my clients. I strive to create an environment that will be supportive and validating as my clients share their journey with me. I acknowledge the difficulties clients may face when beginning this process and commend you for making yourself a priority!

Elizabeth is the best match for a therapist that I could have gotten. She is so knowledgeable, empathetic, and supportive throughout the difficult times I’ve experienced. I value her input and guidance and am so grateful for making the decision to join better help.

Liz is kind, professional, and is someone who makes me feel willing to confide in her and who has credibility with her expertise.

Liz goes above and beyond for her patients. She sends me messages throughout the week just to “check in” when she knows I’ve been having a tough time or have something significant coming up in the week. When I am unable to schedule with Liz, she is very accommodating. She works with you to fit you into her personal schedule on her own days off. This was my first experience with therapy, so I had no idea what to expect. I was lucky to have met Liz right off the bat, someone who is so wise and understanding, and gives the best advise. I’ve learned a lot about myself throughout this process and how to deal with specific situations that arise in my life. I definitely have more self confidence and can say that is a result of therapy. Liz helped provide an abundance of insight in regards to my questions and problems. She is not just a therapist, she treats you like family.

I'd say the proper qualities and actions that make up the best therapist fall under an interest in their client, their client's life, and success, and Elizabeth shows a very compassionate interest in my life. I very much appreciate her and her continued guidance.

Liz is the best. She has offered me a variety of tools to help me navigate my everyday life in a (better health)ier way. I’d recommend Liz to anyone starting out in therapy.
