Ellen Watton-Emsley
About me
I’m a person-centred counsellor offering confidential one-to-one sessions, where you can talk openly and be truly heard.
Over the years, I’ve supported people facing a wide range of challenges, including domestic abuse, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, loneliness, relationship and family issues, low self-esteem, trauma, and abuse. Whatever you’re going through, you're not alone—and you don’t have to face it all by yourself.
My approach is gentle, respectful, and always free from judgement. I believe that we all need a bit of support from time to time, and I treat every person I work with with warmth, acceptance, and genuine care.
I understand how daunting it can feel to reach out for counselling. It takes real courage to take that first step, especially when things already feel difficult. If you’re feeling unsure or anxious, please know that I’ll do everything I can to help you feel comfortable and at ease.
I’m not here to offer advice or tell you what to do. Instead, I offer a safe space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, in your own way. Our sessions are led by you—because you’re the expert on your life.
If you’d like to find out more or just have a chat about how I work, I’d love to hear from you.

Ellen is amazing. Extremely supportive and easy to speak to. Listens and helps progress without forcing advice or setting unrealistic goals or targets for the mindset I’m in.

I wanted to say thank you for all the listening, support, advice and championing over the last few months! You have been really helpful and made the weeks get better bit by bit. Hope to continue again with you when funds pick up again in the New Year at some point. Wishing you and your family a blessed Christmas season and that your wishes come true for 2027. Keep up the smashing work! x

Ellen Watton-Emsley has made an incredible impact on my mental state, she is a fantastic listener and shows real empathy and understanding of what can be sometimes quite complicated situations. She offers clarity and a good ear to bend. Thoroughly enjoyed our sessions, albeit there difficult nature. She helped immeasurably. Thankyou Ellen!

Only one session but have confidence in her ability. Asked what seems easy questions but they really made me think. Reassuring in having a path forward had to miss the next session but looking forward to the next to see how she approaches my particular situation. Calm, inquisitive, and eager to help.

Ellen has been brilliant at working through my thoughts, organising them, and suggesting solutions. She helped me move from a dark and confusing place to one of clarity in a positive and encouraging way. Ellen was always extremely professional, understanding and accommodating with times. I would highly recommend her.
